Self+peer grading promotes student engagement in learning by giving an active role in the grading process, this helps learning and assimilation of the material taught, motivates the students and teaches additional skills. Initial training effort definitely pays off. #CEP813 #MAET

Discrimination, in any of its forms (race, gender, color, religious etc.) is sometimes unintentional but inherent in everyone. Educators have to be extremely careful to ensure equity among all and rule out any potential discrimination in assessments or other areas. #CEP813 #MAET

Reflecting on my initial thoughts on assessment: we should not divert from its main objective of improving performance. Modern digital tools can lure us to control rather than improve the teaching/learning through assessment feedback, & hence can become misleading. #CEP813 #MAET

Are we too focused on monitoring&actually neglecting teaching?A sense of judgement on how to monitor&deal with students is crucial.We can't apply a process blindly on all students&expect it to work!Automation,no matter how sophisticated,can't replace the human brain #CEP813 #MAET

As long as it is optional &with the consent of the learner and the teacher.However many forms of assessment can be done without monitoring.Raising the learners awareness regarding the disadvantages of cheating and the importance of honesty seem like a more reliable option though.
