**That's the classic smallpox vaccine scar.**
The old smallpox vaccine (using live vaccinia virus) was given with a bifurcated needle that pricked the skin 15–20 times in a small circle. This created a controlled local infection/pustule. As it healed over a few weeks (papule → blister → scab), it left this distinctive depressed, round scar with radiating lines — proof the vaccine “took” and triggered immunity.
Not BCG (which usually has a raised, smoother center). Smallpox shots stopped routinely in the 1970s–80s, so mainly older folks have them.
