Alan Sermons

I drink tea and eat cake.

Sometimes I do this while volunteering for St John Ambulance.

However, all opinions are my own. Particularly those about cake.

@cosmicshambles Is one of the surprises that you'll manage to finish on time? :-)

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@JoeShawSJA @stjohnambulance @DimensionsMiHub @JoeShawSJA - hopefully someone has already caught the "no long required" comment in the notices photo and fed that back to the dev team :-)

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@cosmicshambles Hopefully I'll make it next year. Stuck at home with one ill daughter, but the other daughter apparently made it onto the stage :-)

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@robinince @RedLionBooks @BookCotswold @GriffinBooksUK It was good to see you again, and the girls definitely enjoyed themselves.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@Lem_100 @rozjsermons If only we were in a position to randomly drop everything and go to the theatre :-(

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@SJA_EventsEssex @LondonMarathon You are all stars. Hopefully I'll make it next year :-)

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@cosmicshambles Are you having fun with the small screen and Brian's big pointer?

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

A belated Christmas present - a night out at #horizonslive watching @robinince and @ProfBrianCox. The kids aren't happy that they didn't have tickets.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

#horizonslive Is the strawberry dead or alive? And what happens if it ends up in a black hole?

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

Out with members and Cadets from Colchester unit and the surrounding area at the #Colchester Garrison Show. We got a good view of the Red Devils parachute team coming in.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@RedLionBooks @EAfestivalUK I must have missed you when I popped into the festival for a couple of hours yesterday. But then I was there with @SJA_EventsEssex (and have been here all day today too), so haven't seen any of the talks.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@the_emmahall Does "doing the housework" count as one thing? It's pretty scary, and I can do it daily.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@cosmicshambles @KingsPlace After all that, I did, but it ended up hidden in my mail filter rules. But I still got the other, presumably automated, email afterwards.
Sadly I can't make either of the rebooked dates. So maybe next year...

Months ago, at the start of the pandemic thing, the nice people at @cosmicshambles started producing free science shows to keep people amused. They're on Patreon and I decided that when I got a job I'd sign up to support them. I finally did, and appear to be the 450th to do so.

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@robinince @RedLionBooks The kids really enjoyed it, and are looking forward to the Nine Lessons events in December. Getting them hooked on science at an early age is good!

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

Taking a break from my @SJA_EventsEssex role to be out for with @SJAERLogistics for the second day of the @Tendring_DC @ClactonAirshow. #SJAEast #StJohnPeople

[Alan Sermons @random_teaboy]

@graparker @yourcolchester I agree - while I use lots of lovely local businesses, none of them are in the list.
