There has been a lot of negative discourse around Alex de Minaur deciding to marry Katie Boulter on the same day as the men’s Wimbledon final, with many arguing that he doesn’t have the belief to reach a Slam final as world No.5. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Alex and Katie held a low-key wedding, which was a small, family ceremony in Leicestershire, but they’ve planned a bigger wedding next week, per @jessicaschiffer. The first wedding was planned once both players knew they were eliminated from Wimbledon.
One of the most sentimental moments of the ceremony was the arrival of Boulter’s grandfather, Brian, who is currently “receiving hospital care,” according to the Daily Mail, which first reported on the wedding.
We all saw how deflated Alex was after exiting the fourth round last week. He is the ultimate competitor, and anyone who argues otherwise doesn’t know him.
