Every time I follow my curiosity, ask questions, surround myself with and follow the advice of people smarter than me, outrageously great things tend to happen
Agree. For many less critical tasks, as a test I'm running local models which get me 80-90% of the way there, then running that output into frontier. So far, I'm finding it efficient enough from a cost perspective, moderately so regarding the hit to productivity. Automating this will make it a no-brainer. Local hardware is more than adequate. Time-sensitive tasks go straight to frontier. I believe in time local open-source models will rival frontier models, and more compute will move to the edge, leaving frontier available for specific high-end use cases. I guess only time will tell…
Along with the usual models today I have been testing gemma-4-26b-a4b on Mac Studio M4 Max, 128g, it's flying. Best part, it came up with answers and PRD components Opus 4.6 missed, so there's that. I believe running multiple models (both closed and open-source) is part of my plan going forward, but I also firmly believe there's coming a day when open source alone will be totally viable for many critical tasks.
@catturd2 Tell @LeaderJohnThune that @VP is on his way. As President of the Senate, the VP can take charge, and in doing so exert tremendous political pressure. Depending on the poll 75-80% of Americans want this bill passed. Thune is holding a losing hand.
@charliekirk11 just listened to the February 21 Charlie Kirk show, specifically the segment regarding culture, which asked the question, is there white culture? There was a very spirited discussion from many different points of view with the exception of one. In the entire 30 minute discussion I did not hear any reference to what the Bible says regarding culture. It’s not like the Bible is silent on the topic, quite the opposite. Count me greatly disappointed, as I am pretty sure Charlie would be. https://t.co/Vd5cyy0QKw @TPUSA@TPAction@AndrewKolvet@MrsErikaKirk
This is no different than taxing a farmer on his unsold crops based on some mythical “today’s price” without taking into account his cash outlay for land, equipment, seed, fertilizer, water, etc. But what if the price he’s able to actually sell it for later is lower than the price you tax him on? What rebate would you offer him then? This is nothing but an unprincipled cash grab.
While I am 100% in favor of US manufacturing companies in all areas of business and look forward to US dominating once again, this was not at all about security. It was about protectionism for a couple of US Drone manufacturers, nothing more, nothing less, and will hurt the industry long before it helps it. DJI passed every security test the government asked them to undertake. Excellent video explanation here: https://t.co/GpbCpobfxD
@zerohedge Why is there no discussion of eliminating the pharmacy benefit managers from the equation? That would go a very long way to reducing costs. While I'm generally not a fan of Mark Cuban politically, his ideas regarding this aspect of healthcare are spot on. https://t.co/aHDIF690cF
Mark Cuban (@mcuban) does a great job explaining how middlemen pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) drive up the cost of prescription drugs for Americans, thus setting up the need for Congress to pass reforms
Cuban: The US has the highest drug prices in the world "because we are the only country that uses PBMs"
On President Trump’s third day in office, he signed an Executive Order banning Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).
Republicans need to hold the line and codify this critical EO.
We cannot let America become China!
Conservatives were promised that language banning a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) would be included in the must-pass National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Unconscionably, it wasn't included.
Leadership needs to fix this bill IMMEDIATELY.

@LeaderJohnThune By making this social media post you are absolutely making it a political issue just like the Dems. Not helpful. If you want to lower costs, simply take the pharmacy benefit managers out of the equation.
