It is a false question. The text is as it is presented to us. It must and can only be regarded as it appears in the final state of release. And the author is dead.
Even in how you phrase the question you display your unexamined bias. Your transparent motive is to try and present a question that lends to a pre-determined answer that you think will trap me into some kind of intellectually stunted "gotcha."
Art is both a collaborative process with countless cooks in the kitchen providing their own ideas and building off of one anothers, and also the result of innumerable happy accidents that cannot be attributed to anyone.
If Sonic had a line that was something like "I better tell Tom about this the next time we meet us for Donuts while he's off duty" would you assume that means the movies are canon?
Or would you rightfully chalk that up to just being a fun lil' reference with no deeper meaning?
Note that you assume Sonic is talking about a "lemur" even though he only mentions the name "Tangle."
But you're trying to pretend Aquillis s the one who is delusional and hallucinating things don't don't exist lol. You're hallucinating a whole ass species into that dialog line.

And even then - who the hell cares? It's a reference that's stupidly hard to trigger, that's been debunked multiple times, that you copists huff and pretend it is canon when it's not anything.
