@AllQuizAble@neso_energy ...and the expected increase in future electricity demand is because of technology data centres etc... While as you point out domestic use has dropped off because of more efficient appliances (yet bills increase, use less pay more...what a scheme!)
@DaleVince They are restricted by lack of labour resources, while economics with high taxes, inflation and energy cause material prices to rise and new specifications also drive cost and therefore sales prices higher. In a market where young people can't afford to buy and many have no jobs
@JamesMelville This is why the pish for electricity continues. All the increase in demand is driven by these requirements (meanwhile our own domestic consumption has fallen over recent decades with efficient products etc)
@FarmingUK Following this sort of nonsense and it's been set out "hypothetically" for years now and surprise surprise same playbook https://t.co/zmxIjCVvSc
@jonburkeUK A long late life O&G industry still contributes massively to GDP, employment and knock on effects to the wider tax take and economy. Taxis, pubs, hotels, restaurants, housing. It's absolutely criminal to push to effectively cull current jobs for a net zero utopian fantasy
@mgshanks You are still complicit and hypocritical for ignoring sanctions when it suits you... And you still miss the obvious points on the huge benefit to the UK economy through jobs, income tax and regional stability until any actual tangible renewable jobs exist. Idiots
@AngelaRayner Oil&Gas companies are making global profits, very little in the UK because of nonsense net zero policy. If you were proactive towards a long late-life O&G industry (like Norway) you would actually recoup more in taxes and sustain the wider economy and jobs with their investment.
@StephenFlynnSNP Skin of your teeth lad... Do not let our energy industry down again. Look at Norway, we can support our local economy with a long late life O&G industry. Every taxi driver, shopkeeper, restaurant owner, publican, hotelier needs this wider economic support.
@theSNP You have caused the problem. Here's a great example, been like this for at least 3 months. I'm not even sure the definition of pothole applies anymore.
@BBCScotlandNews Legal migration to balance jobs where needed is of course sensible... Simply filling the country with migrants is not the same thing and they know that but choose to muddy the water with vagueness to justify failed policy. Everyone can see through the bullsh*T. It's carnage
@JatinderHayre_@wesstreeting Getting them to Uni is one thing... Where's the training posts for them when they finish FY2? The current situation is scandalous for our young doctors
