There two conflicts. One is that if you don’t share them, Ugandans will never know what happened. Secondly, the anger from the collective that have been abused will one day boil up and explode whilst the rest of us are unprepared and NUP leadership won’t even be able to stop it. On the other hand, you share them and no one will express concern. Case in point is Nakibuka Irene who was abducted on that day, moreover at 5:00 pm before the worst horrors began. She was tortured (including injecting her with dangerous chemicals), released and died a few days after. When @AgoraCFR shared the ordeal, only a small section of the public expressed concern, the state did not express remorse, compensate her family or even issue an explanatory communique. So maybe there’s no point in telling the stories.
Dear @mtnug what happens in the event that your system does not reflect a transaction it processed? Your support lines are busy, your social media is cold.
According to a lady called Peace on customer care duty Sunday 7th June, 11:30.
This Transaction ID: 41205941864 of a 1000 ugx deducted by @mtnug ltd appeared miraculously into my messages!
But the fata bought was not delivered? As in?
Yesterday mtn systems were down and they promised to refund me, now the call agent is saying i only made one transaction. Yet my statement shows 2 transactions with only 1 refund.
@mtnug what's going on?
None of the Arua people has talked about "mob" they're quiet.
Yet It happens even at places where the learned sit and drink from.
There's also the village mob so lethal and barbaric from community.
They will turn on you for defending the victim, the vice goes deep in Ug 💔
For ffs why do the police pick up injured people . No training whatsoever, no concern for neck injury , no first aid .. they just pick up and throw on a pickup to dump at the ED. So much could’ve been done …we pay taxes , where are the EMS services
With the exception of the Butambala incidents, this country has never talked about what happened on the night of 15th Jan 2026. NUP and other opposition political candidates themselves have never fully opened up. When horror occurs as swift and severely as it did on that night, you do not even know how to handle it, you cannot speak because you don’t know what to say or even know how you feel.
On the NUP podcast we have considered hosting some of the victims to open up to the country which was in the dark b’se of the shutdown. But we are also unsure on whether we want to open up these wounds or traumatize our audience.
Judicial impunity and judicial kakistocracy have pushed Uganda into a graveyard of rule law and constitutionalism where the law is reduced to the whim, mood and attitude of a judicial officer. Unacceptable.
