@zalikita@BBCPolitics@bbcnickrobinson Specialists, yes. Sovereign, no. An NHS model running on foreign chips and infrastructure doesn’t answer the dependency point. You’re arguing we can do useful things with AI. I’m not disputing that 👍
@henrywinter If he can get that care into the squad then has a chance but somethings not right to have got in this position in the first place.
He’s fighting for his job.
@rolandparis@MarinaPurkiss Come on now.
Starlink has spent nearly 12 years developing this and isn’t standing still.
Building an independent European backup is one thing.
Matching its scale and replacing its capacity is quite another.
You’re about 10 years too late with your overdramatised post.
@afneil I like Andy Burnham, however, that’s the problem.
I don’t want to like my PM I want to respect them.
The respect comes from not trying to please everyone, setting a strategy with a proper plan and belligerently delivering on it otherwise what was the point.
@Dominic2306 The country has outsourced its thinking and development on AI to the US and China. We will simply be recipients of whatever those 2 nations decide to provide us. Sovereign AI my arse.
@GearsAndTears@TheSimonGilbert You’ve been lured into thinking that the metrics decide the better team. Did you not notice you were given the ball for the entire game and allowed to travel to the edge of our box but once you got there you were generally totally ineffective. I think your manager got schooled.
@leadballoon74@CovCityLive Regards LW thats will be based on his value and selling him in January. Would surely have gone in Summer but for his injury?
@LBC@TomSwarbrick1 God damn that socialism narrative 😪
I want a new economy. I call it the “Contribution Economy”
If you put in, you should get on.
Simple
@BBCPolitics Completely wrong viewpoint. It’s not a loss of jobs directly it’s the sharp reduction of the need to employ that in the first effect of AI. Why employ when an agent can do the work is the question employers will ask themselves.
@grantshapps Britain is not entering the race, they didn’t buy a place at the table. US and China own the race and will use the UK to accelerate their respective progress.
A revolution doesn’t have guardrails otherwise it’s not a revolution.
