Four years ago today, 13 service members, including Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez from Logansport, IN, lost their lives in the Abbey Gate terrorist attack during the Biden Administration's catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
I had the honor of meeting with Cpl. Sanchez's family last year during the Congressional Gold Medal ceremony, which posthumously honored these 13 heroes.
We must never forget their courage and their sacrifice.
