Pastors, your greatest legacy is not the size of the crowd but the depth of the disciples. Pour into those who will pour into others. This is how the Kingdom of God multiplies.
@watchkeep@JacksonLahmeyer I saw a post in which a pastor criticized the other party’s former candidates' moral failings to excuse this politician/pastor's sin.
Jesus taught that others' behavior doesn't determine the rightness of our actions (Matt 5:43–48). We should be held to a higher standard.
@ThigpenTiffany The same old, same old. Some of the most self-righteous and hateful people I’ve ever come across are SBC pastors on social media! I couldn’t have voted for either of the guys running for SBC president.
@ChristaBrown777 I had to look that word up. One interesting thing is dealing with tone: it’s an old fashioned and highly offensive word that should be used with caution. It’s a sad day when AI responds more like a Christian than these so called “pastors!”
@JaredCBurt You are correct in your assessment! I was told that their stand on “truth” is the grace! I’m not sure that is what the Bible is calling grace!
@lorifrank1@BaggettJoe1971 I find it hard to comprehend the hypocritical attitudes of many conservative pastors who act more like unbelievers. Where’s the grace in their words and actions? Can’t they express their views without insulting and attacking people? Thankful for you and your husband!
When pastors call abused women “Jezebel,” “harlot,” or “whore,” they stop sounding like shepherds and start sounding like wolves.
Wounding the wounded is not biblical faithfulness. Such men should not be celebrated as courageous defenders of truth.
So... which do you think is worse? "Whore of Satan" or "spawn of Satan"? 🤔
I've been called both. This is what happens when women speak out about the Southern Baptist Convention. #ThisistheSBC
@ThigpenTiffany After reading what these guys believe about the sexual abuse problem in the SBC I couldn’t vote for either of the men running to be president of the SBC. Their belief on the Mohler amendment is also troubling!
@Brent_Hobbs@pastordmack@ThigpenTiffany@KaeleyT What arrogance and stupidity! It’s also a gross misreading of Scripture. Why would any woman want to be in the SBC with leaders like Al promoting this misogyny!
@JaredCBurt@Pastor_Gabe It amazes me how so many of these pastor’s ignore the context to make their point. Deborah was already a judge and prophet before Barak refused to obey God unless she went with him.
@JaredCBurt In Jimmy Draper’s book “Authority: The Critical Issue for SB” he warned about the danger of Christian cannibalism. In my 40+ years as a conservative pastor in the SBC it seems there are some who are always looking for a fight! And if you disagree you’re a heretic!
@JaredCBurt These bad actors sit out of ministry a couple of weeks and most are right back in the pulpit. Leaving their former church and the survivors to deal with the consequences.
@drandrewhebert I graduated from Mid-America BTS which was birthed in response to the liberalism of the 70’s SBC, and yet I’m tired of the constant demonization over secondary issues. I’ve been a minister in the SBC for over +35 years and yet I find myself almost indifferent to it.
@DayDreamer1795@pastorlocke Hannah, I encourage you to go back and read Titus 1:9-13; 2 Timothy 2:17–18; 1 Timothy 1:19–20; 3 John 9–10.
Does Greg Locke meet the biblical standard of an elder? An overseer is “not quick-tempered… not a bully,” (Titus 1:7). Greg is both.
@Brent_Hobbs Another case of our Calvinist/Reformed brothers making a secondary issue into a first-tier one. I don’t think it’s the issue in the SBC they claim it is. Their argument from silence about associate pastors is absurd.
