@bobabowen This "Chain of Thought" monitoring summary is sensible, but completely misses the connection to explainability and the formal Turing/Gödel constraints on modeling ANY modeling process. Surely computer scientists should understand these limitations and acknowledge them?
@asimunawar I got Francesca's talk, which I promised to listen to and then discuss with her directly. I have downloaded Yoshua's talk. The only one missing is Luc de Raedt's talk?
@jonwillits@chrmanning Thanks to Christopher Manning, for helping not loose the history of structural linguistics traditions and the not of Jon Willits. Without paying attention, the "nouveau-LLMers" are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.
@rajiinio@chrmanning Thanks to Chris Manning and supporters who are emerging as a voice of rationale sanity amidst the incredible polemic of AI and existential risk.
@Dreyfable@rabois @pegobry Duh, what jurisdiction(s) are you talking about? I wouldn't be surprised if it is only the USA, where public education has been on a steady decline for quite a while.
@elgreco_winter There are many problems from foundational AI and reasoning, e.g., explanation of outputs, recognition of contradiction, non-compositional compounds and multi-word expressions ... The biggest danger is that people will believe these problems are solved by LLMs.
@jtbourne You wrote that Austen Matthews is “the best player in the world, which is evidence to confirm you only cover the Leafs. Perhaps you ate trapped in an Eastern Canada vortex? McDavid is magic compared to Matthews.
@ozaiane The Kissinger/Schmidt/Huttenlocher book sets the weaponization of AI as a given, which is nonsense. It is based on a dated philosophy of dominance by physical bullying, which seems to be the foundation of American foreign policy.
@burrsettles I can't find an email address, and need some advice about an Active Learning proposal for the Artificial Intelligence journal (I'm co-editor in chief of reviews).
I also write music, if that helps ;-) [email protected]
Donald Turd doesn’t like Tweets that are negative about him ... it is inevitable that they will continue to trend, as he is the architecture of his own demise.
