Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.

#5DayBankingNow
India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.
@PMOIndia
The IBA should have anamolies of their own. May be they may not have been able to gauze the amount of frustration, but now it's high time.

We are delighted to know that our MD&CEO, Sri Rajneesh Karnatak,in the town hall meeting at Ranchi, appreciated the need of "Work-Life Balance" for enhanced productivity of Staff. Being a practical banker, he emphasized the need for more focus on deposits and advances.

The improving health of the Public Sector Banks are attributed to the lower level Employees. Top brasses are busy in TPP. Level playing fields and accountability to the Banks can further improve their health.
The euphoria of OPS is still going on quoting outcome of Karnataka Election. We are waiting for 5 day’s week. We wish anybody should do it for us. Don’t forget that NPS was the brain child of Congress. Now, again “Privatisation” has come out from hibernation.
#StopPrivatisation
The importance of “Work-Life-Balance” has duly been explained in our COD which is being reproduced below. It has been beautifully explained that how WLB is beneficial to all. Kudos to all for it’s implementation.
Heartiest congratulations to all for achieving something unique which was not thought up by all. Crossing 300K Tweets by 10 PM and Trending for more than 2 and half hours created a history. Few bullet points-
> It was implemented and initiated by
FBOIOA alone. However other
Affiliates too helped us.
> We could get support of other social
Organisations with whom we
maintain good coordination.
> The movement is for the right cause.
> It’s our resolve to achieve it cent
percent without lowering our guards.
I once again express my sincere gratitude on behalf of FBOIOA to each one of you for your help and commitment.
BOI Long Live! FBOIOA Long Live!!
If FBOIOA would not have brought it in light then it should have been lying unnoticed in the pages of OSR.Nobody can deny that we have started a movement under this Regulation, which will not fade away. No other affiliate could show this courage.
Further clarification on Regulation 48 of BOI (Officers’) Service. It says in first para that Managers/Officers expected to decide for themselves schedule for their working hours( which will not exceed six and half hours excluding recess). Hence, go for “work-life-balance”.
