The American military presence in Iran is not being reduced.
🔻In the Arabian Sea, two carrier strike groups led by the USS George H.W. Bush and USS Abraham Lincoln remain active, with 16 combat and amphibious ships (down slightly from about 18 last month).
🔻In the Mediterranean, a group of two US guided-missile ships continues operations, while the destroyer USS Gonzalez is positioned in the Red Sea monitoring the Suez Canal area.
🔻The air component is largely unchanged: 12 B-1B strategic bombers are based at RAF Fairford, with reconnaissance carried out by RC-135, U-2S, P-8A, RQ-4B and MQ-4C aircraft. Over the past day these assets conducted 68 imaging sorties of 57 targets inside Iran.
🔻Tactical aviation activity has increased, with US and Israeli aircraft flying 38 sorties near the Iran-Iraq and Iran-Saudi borders.
The limited adjustments mainly reflect the need for greater Red Sea coverage after Houthi attacks. Overall the force posture shows little fundamental change and still appears geared toward possible further escalation.

The former “dead” Ayatollah publicly declared neither negotiations nor war would happen — right before he was smashed under the rubble of his own fortress-office in the joint Israeli-American Operation Epic Fury.
Now Oman negotiates with Tehran to reopen the Strait of #Hormuz while the IRGC and their Houthi affiliates attack commercial ships nearby, betting Trump won’t dare strike again.
The IRGC keeps miscalculating. Pure agony.
The Islamic Republic is trying to force President Trump into a lose-lose proposition before November.
Either a diplomatic surrender at the negotiating table recognizing Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, or a military stalemate on the battlefield through more strikes that fail to have a political effect or lose the president support.
Here, the hallmarks of a good Iran policy requires 1) not rushing into anything 2) recognizing where the US does and doesn’t have leverage 3) making sure tactics serve strategy rather than the news cycle and 4) re-assessing that which the Islamic Republic “holds dear” (to better threaten it the Schelling-ian sense).
In a world where strikes have ceased, there should also be no talk of talks. Instead, the long pole in the Iran policy tent should be escalating and enforcing maximum pressure sanctions and the maritime blockade.
🚨🇮🇷 Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, Ahmad Vahidi: "As long as the United States and Israel possess nuclear weapons, we will continue working on them for our national security. If they disarm, we will disarm".
This is the first time an Iranian official has directly admitted to developing a nuclear bomb.
@MaiOnnaze@Osint613 IRGC and their support base which consists technically of a death cult say it every single day and they have been doing it since 1979. Very a few in Washington wanted to listen. The Majority of the American people are frustrated because US went to the wrong address in 2003.
Finishing, the job is the only solution.

Day 38 of Operation Epic Fury. We were 12–14 days from finishing the job.”
Pakistan, Turkey, and Qatar played the neo-political Islam card and helped keep the Islamic Republic alive, each of them for a different reason. That choice is now holding the global economy hostage. The regime will keep funding terrorism and will seek revenge.
It’s a dead Ayatollah walking.
Peace with this regime is pure delusion. They lie the way they breathe. They sit at the table knowing they’re being played—and the other side keeps pretending not to notice.

Axios Report: U.S., Iran and Oman nearing interim Hormuz agreement.
Key points:
• The U.S. hopes to announce the deal on Wednesday.
• The agreement would restore the U.S. Iran ceasefire and restart nuclear talks.
• The proposed arrangement would last 60 days, with an option to extend.
• Inbound shipping would transit through Iranian waters.
• Outbound shipping would use Omani waters, coordinated with Iran.
• No transit fees would be charged during the temporary arrangement.
• Naval mines would be cleared from the central shipping lane within 30 days.
• The central lane would later handle two way traffic under a permanent Oman Iran agreement.
Northwest Iran mobilization is not new — it has simply been reinforced to counter possible militant advances by Kurdish opposition groups.
More notable is the activity in the south. Forces there appear to be positioning and preparing specifically to contest any potential ground operations.
🇮🇷 OSINT - 1 Aug 2026
Elements of the Iranian Army’s 92nd Armored Division (Artesh) spotted recently moving T-72 variant tanks south on Route 39 (Ahvaz–Abadan highway) toward south to Abadan.

Forces appear to be positioning along the Khuzestan coast (Abadan–Mahshahr–Genaveh sector) amid broader reinforcement and optical reconnaissance activity in the northern Gulf approaches.
Limited numbers so far — not a full division move.
Activity appears defensive/deterrent in nature along the Khuzestan–Bushehr coastal belt.
