On October 12 and as the Gaza war raged, I found myself standing before a gathering at the Lebanese International Book Fair in Beirut, entrusted with the main keynote address.
The weight of the world’s suffering pressed upon our hearts, yet duty beckoned. In the midst of turmoil, I shared this address with words that know no boundaries, transcending the divisions of nations and ideologies.
It is in culture that we find solace, empathy, and the strength to carry on, even when faced with the darkest of times. After all, our collective commitment to knowledge and unity would light the way forward.
