#Dhanush on the National Award debate 🫣🔥
“I agree that Meiyazhagan and Maharaja were better films than Raayan last year. But when films like Pudhupettai, Vada Chennai, Karnan, Maryan, and Raanjhanaa missed out on National Awards, nobody came forward to fight for them.
Today, around 90% of people are opposing my National Award. But when my earlier films, which truly deserved it, missed out, not even 10% of people spoke up"
Dear @Akracingoffl sir
The cinema landscape is undergoing a major generational shift. New stars are emerging, and the old belief that only a film with a big hero can succeed is gradually changing. Today, a well-made film can become a hit regardless of who plays the lead role.
With Vijay stepping away from cinema to politics, his massive cinema fan base will naturally begin supporting and following other actors on the big screen.
Next 3–4 years will be crucial. The heroes who consistently deliver successful films during this period are likely to dominate the industry for the next decade.
For a star with a huge fan following like AK, staying away from films over salary negotiations may not be the best use of this opportunity. While many AK fans may not openly express it, there is a sense of disappointment among them.
Even if he starts shoot a film today, it may not reach theatres until mid-2027. If too much time is spent on salary discussions, the space he currently occupies could gradually be filled by someone else.
It may be wise for AK to come to an agreement on remuneration and immediately announce 2–3 projects with major production houses.
Otherwise, if a space is left vacant for too long, someone else will eventually step in and claim it...
