There is need for new technologies, along with other public support for effective adoption. It has to be package of interventions!

I write in today's @the_hindu on cotton import duty cuts. I argue that the issue has to be seen in the long view of structural changes in cotton since 2004-05. That there is a need to have a public R&D agenda to revitalize the farm to firm links in the cotton supply chain.

Dr. Ranjini Basu ( @ranjini_basu ), Garware Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Institute for Advanced Study of India (UPIASI), New Delhi, and a long-time collaborator of the Foundation, visited our office today.

During the visit, she had an engaging discussion with the research team about ongoing projects, exchanged ideas, and explored possibilities for future collaboration.
