A massive week for our province.

One of the largest private sector investments in Canadian history is coming home to Alberta.

@Meta has chosen Alberta for its first Canadian AI data centre, a historic $13 billion investment that will create thousands of jobs, strengthen our economy, and help position our province as a global leader in artificial intelligence and technology.

This project will support 3,000 construction jobs, 300 permanent positions, generate an estimated $250 million in annual benefits for Albertans, and invest $60 million into local roads, water, and community infrastructure.

Meta is fully funding new generation and grid infrastructure to support the data centre, which will improve reliability across the entire Alberta grid benefiting electricity customers across the province by reducing transmission costs by up to six per cent on Albertans’ utility bills.

We are proud to welcome Meta to and thank them for their confidence in our province, our economy, and most importantly, our people. Alberta has the energy, talent, and ambition to power the next generation of innovation.

I had an incredible opportunity to visit Camp Connect Charter School’a  outdoor education space where students swap desks for an immersive, hands-on learning experience directly in the environment.

By stepping outside the traditional classroom, students are learning about the environment, in nature and astronomy in a place where the stars shine bright against the dark night sky. This is a phenomenal example of educational innovation in action.

Alberta’s investment momentum keeps growing with another $570 million project moving forward in our province.

Pembina’s new Heartland Extraction Plant project will launch in 2029. This project will strengthen Alberta’s energy industry, create jobs, expand processing capacity, and support long-term growth in the Industrial Heartland.

Projects like this are happening because Alberta has the resources, workforce, infrastructure, and investment certainty companies are looking for.

Like many Canadians, we’ve watched life become harder over the last 15 years. Bills are higher, groceries cost more, good-paying jobs are harder to find, and the dream of owning a first home feels further away than ever before.

We don’t just “believe” Liberal/NDP policies hurt Canada — we know they did. Canadians have watched industries struggle, communities fall behind, crime and extortion rise, and families work harder while getting less in return. Even Alberta, one of the strongest and most prosperous provinces in Canada, has felt that pressure.

During COVID, there was no long-term economic plan other than handing out money. When global challenges came from the United States and President Trump, Canadians saw symbolic policies like banning plastic straws instead of serious plans to strengthen our economy and protect Canadian industries.

As an immigrant, I have no doubt in saying this: the Liberals flooded industries and brought in large numbers of workers without a real plan for housing, infrastructure

This isn’t just about people who support separation. It’s about everyday Albertans and Canadians who love this country and remember when being Canadian meant something powerful around the world. We were proud to travel with our flag, proud of our opportunities, and proud of the life we were building.

This should never be about choosing Alberta or choosing Canada. That kind of division only weakens us. We can stand up for Alberta while still loving Canada.

No matter where you stand,it’s time for Canadians and Albertans to come together, support each other, and push for a stronger future for the next generation.

Kicking the can down the road only prolongs an emotional and important debate, and muzzling the voices of hundreds of thousands of Albertans who want to be heard is unjustifiable in a free and democratic society.

Great news Alberta!

A critical milestone has been reached under the Canada-Alberta energy agreement (MOU) so that our province can expect approval from the Federal Major Projects Office for actual construction of the West Coast Pipeline on or before September 1, 2027.

When achieved, this would be the fastest approval of a major oil pipeline from Alberta in a generation!

This project will deliver 1,000,000 new barrels of Alberta oil every single day to new Asian markets, creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and generating a phenomenal amount of wealth for Albertans and Canadians for decades to come.

And just as importantly, Alberta has successfully fought to permanently end Justin Trudeau’s punitive oil and gas production cap and roll back his absurdly high industrial carbon price to a much more realistic level that will save our job creators over $250 billion and protect the livelihoods of Alberta workers.

This is what happens when Alberta stands strong.
