Then I ask how well I've told it.

The music, the vocal, the arrangement, and the production all have a job to do: serve the story.

My simple test is this: If I have a good story and tell it well, I have interest.

Before genre, style tags, instrumentation, or production, I need a story worth telling. It might be an ordinary person facing an extraordinary choice, a quiet moment that changes everything, or something about the human condition that deserves to be heard.

Is it a good story?
Is it told well?

What surprised me was how much I enjoyed listening to the other entries. There is some seriously good music being made with AI tools.

I don’t remember a single month when I released 10 individual songs, not counting albums. So the 20-download limit really doesn’t change how I work.

So this Sunday, rather than worrying about what changed, I think I’ll take a closer look at what didn’t.
