@AlboMP Except for disabled people who aren't allowed to leave the house? ๐ง And all the support workers out of a job? And all the carers who have to quit their job to take their disabled family members out or to look after their child with autism? You mean those people?
@strangerous10 To make up the additional CGT tax they now have to pay upon sale but hadn't expected originally. This applies to everyone now. So yes investors will up rents to make up that extra 100k etc they now have to pay at property sale time. Foreseeable as I said.
@strangerous10 It's not the neg gearing though, it's the CGT at the end. Investors now have to extract more on the way while holding property. This means higher rents. This is common sense, the government should have foreseen that investors would instead flip to positive income generating houses
@criprights The smart play would be to take it on the chin and do the opposite anyway but frame it around saving businesses and standing behind disabled people. But the libs seem to not know about political strategy anymore so populism it is and the fraud rorts narrative wins
@criprights The thing is the Libs can't attack Labor on the NDIS because they screwed it up in the first place and let it blow out at 20% a year and also tried to gut it themselves. So we are in this twilight zone where the opposition can't opposite now. So like what are they even there for
@criprights And legislating parental responsibility. Even informal carer extended network responsibility. So parents now have to prove why it's not appropriate for grandma to help out. I'm so angry ๐ก
@criprights Everyone who has had a motor vehicle accident also not eligible... So no support why you wait 2 to 3 years for your compensation case to finalise
@criprights I am deeply concerned about the permanence test as well. Providing you've had all available treatment, that test caught me with DSP and left me without income for 2 years because I was having a surgery and it went wrong. I was in a rehab so deemed not fully stabilised for a year.
@criprights Did you also see that we only have 90 days to claim now Sam? It used to be 2 years. So if you forget, or you're sick etc you can't go back and claim for reimbursement if past 90 days.
@DavidPocock And yet we are cutting disabled peoples right to leave their house. Cutting the only Auslan news channel. Cutting the human rights Commission. And cutting legal aid for children.... Sounds fair... ๐ง
@Keg767 Exactly the point more money to the banks as well. Some people will stash money there in terms deposits instead of shares etc. there's always someone benefitting
@IRanalyst@ECAJewry And yet we didn't have enough money for the Auslan news channel for the deaf community or for children's legal aid , or the Australian human rights Commission. All cut
A budget detail many missed last night was how the Albanese Labor government is addressing what it calls social cohesion. It is cutting $9 million from the Australian Human Rights Commission, the independent body that protects and serves every community equally.
"By June 2027 we will have spent $11B on AUKUS without so much as a periscope to show for it." @MrRexPatrick - #AUKUS gravy train a big winner from the #Budget#auspol
