@KowalskiKit It measured nothing of importance to helping define the future direction of the country. If it was designed to count how many people are currently here, then I guess it might be a reasonable effort but if it was designed to help drive our future direction, we are screwed
@PulseProveX Anyone who supports taxation of unrealised gains is so far removed from the real world that they should be banned from voting imho. There is not a single scenario where it makes any sense.
@JEChalmers lol. That shows just how you don’t understand what you are talking about. Forcing trusts to redeploy as companies will do that. Now tell us how many trusts are being wound down and how many businesses are failing to give a rounded account. Pure spin
@JamieNicolaou It’s the typical government play. Introduce a new tax to “fix” a problem, it fails, but rather than reversing a poor decision, they are already addicted to the extra income like a junkie and look to where else they can get more of those sweet tax dollars like a drug fix.
@SBaranov7 This is not a defence for RH but a general comment - own your decisions, if they don’t work out, don’t try blaming others and enriching lawyers trying to get them to reimburse you. If you believe in high returns without high risk, you just learnt a lesson. Move on.
@Scruffymurphy2 Seems like a loaded question - do you have some well qualified sources to share that can prove that this is true for the lifetime of a wind generator? Everything I have seen indicates the maintenance / breakdown / replacement cycle makes them economically inefficient.
@JEChalmers I know there are a lot of haters out there but it’s only fair that we give you a chance to announce new tax cuts tomorrow. Surely the feedback given from almost everyone has sunk in and caused a rethink on the budget announcement. If not, then we are all screwed.
@S_GerardRennick It depends - if they have genuinely served the country and not profited personally from their time in office then yes, we should. However If their personal net worth has been bolstered to the position where they can be self funded retirees then no.
@BilsonhBilson So if trusts are taxed at 30%, do the distributions to the beneficiaries become exempt from marginal taxes? If not, do the beneficiaries receive imputed tax credits for the taxes already paid?
