My ancestors were on a plantation in 1776, the ones that weren’t still were under a system of white supremacy here. Independence day is about a nation overthrowing their colonial masters and declaring themselves sovereign. WE didn’t gain independence in 1776.
This image holds two histories side by side. One taken from land, the other taken from freedom.
Together they tell a truth often separated but deeply connected.

@dijoni Gospel! You would think that you wouldn't need to say this to black people in 2026 but the world hates your black skin so why hate on each other? It makes absolutely no sense when you can see the world being racist to all black people no matter where you come from. Cointelpro.
This is the post asked a excellent question. Who benefited from black Americans war with black immigrants?. nobody benefited from it. It’s not making our life much better.. it’s a CIA operation. And African immigrants and Caribbean in black Americans are complicit in it.. when they decide to brutalize us on the street. They don’t care where you’re from.. brothers and sisters it’s time to stop as xenophobic against each other. Time to stop the Afro phobic.
Queen Latifah shows off a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent to her by Nas and DJ Premier as they honor her as one of the queens of the microphone.
