Bob Iger and Josh Kushner want to put the Buss family drama behind them as smoothly as possible by buying out their shares.
- @ArashMarkazi
We could finally move on from Jeanie, the Rambises, and eventually Rob Pelinka.
Developing: With the Departure of the Buss Family in their recent sale of the percentage of the Los Angeles Lakers that was left , there is Speculation that Lakers current GM Rob Pelinka may be next in line , the current thought is that New Ownership will give Pelinka this year to prove to them if he is fit to play the role of GM , but it may be sooner than later that LA has a new head of basketball operations, per Sources
The Lakers will continue “Dodgerizing” the organization with the new ownership per @ramonashelburne
“They were in the process of Dodgerizing the Lakers, right? All of the brains and all of the apparatus that had been installed with the Dodgers to make them the most successful franchise in baseball the last few years was being implemented with the Lakers… everyone who’s been hired, everyone who’s been put in place here, they’re still going to keep doing what they’re doing.”
Statement to ESPN from Josh Kushner and Bob Iger:
“As lifelong NBA fans, we are deeply honored for the opportunity to become stewards of the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most iconic sports franchises in the world. We have immense respect for the leadership and vision of Jerry and Jeanie Buss. Our long-term commitment is to build on that foundation, compete at the highest level, and serve this extraordinary team, its fans, and the city of Los Angeles."
