@CryptoTallzy@jeffpalmer Doesn’t look like it unfortunately: “https://t.co/osGYYE9sIN IS NOT ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS”. Which seems a bit strange for a community of 26 people. 🤔
But hey, they’ll have their reasons or maybe it’s a mistake.
@jeffpalmer I like those newer, minimal ones a lot too!
What would you classify as retro aesthetics about them? I think I’m getting it to some degree (form language / shapes and colors), but I’m not sure.
@amanjha__ Really interesting! But I would assume if you upload a paper you do not hold the copy rights of the upload might be classified as copyright infringement and academic publishers woukd be happy to come after you, am I missing something? And for your own papers you wouldn’t need it.
@ilyamiskov@MaterialsOffice The numbers look bad, the cramped ISO enter as well, the left 1.25u shift would drive me crazy and the mix of flat, elevated and recessed keycaps does not strike me as elegant or comfortable to type on.
But aside from layout and keycaps it does look nice.
@shiffman Love all this retro computing paraphernalia!
But I hope you have an extra insurance for your wrists or better yet, a personal training plan to mitigate the effects of typing with that angle for prolonged periods. ⌨️🤓
@mhevery The schemas are nice!
Depending on the use case: if you don’t simultaneously speak about the state serialisation and I would hear about Qwik the first time, I would wonder why Qwik does not need to execute JS which looks like the major part of “UX speed improvements”
@thorstenball Asking myself the same question sometimes when working with backend devs using database GUIs (not CLI / terminal - actual admin GUIs). But I think your example is much more stark. So much whitespace on the bottom & no padding in the column heading cells. Hard to read.
@AnthroPunk@npseaver Why German foundations? Do you mean the foundations of Anthropolgy as a discipline with Bastian? And what is the association then? And what do you mean by ML is “its own form of Structuralism”? The search for patterns? I’m genuinely wondering.
@shawnkemp@revdancatt This! 😀
But for some reason for me the code I come up with in my dreams almost always feels ingenious until I had my first few sips of coffee. After that comes the great disappointment that it absolutely doesn’t work and then around noon some other approach does work.
@thesolarmonk@mayli@thisisehsan It seams like way too much.
But on the other hand, I think going overboard with error messages is almost impossible and I would prefer overly specific error messages to vague ones any time. Assuming Wix has a huge code base, there is much room for errors. I Like their design.
@rsms@_EricHu Oh that is an interesting point. I just had a really strange bug in my last project that only happened on Safari for iOS. For some reason, each scroll interaction triggered a re-render of my p5 sketch which normally should only have triggered on window-resize.
@rsms@_EricHu I have seen this as well a few weeks back. The book is unreadable on mobile. But I don’t think it should be blamed on the quality of web tech in general.
@protozoo Thank you for the detailed explanation! Super interesting stuff. Understanding the technical side of your work a bit better makes it even more fascinating, I feel.
