NEW:
🇩🇪🇨🇳 German Chancellor Merz says Germans need to work more in order to match China:
“We are simply no longer productive enough. Each individual may say, “I already do quite a lot.” And that may be true.
But when you return from China, ladies and gentlemen, you see things more clearly.
With work-life balance and a four-day week, long-term prosperity in our country cannot be maintained. We will simply have to do a bit more.”
People are addicted to comfort.
They're taught that stress, uncertainty, fear and discomfort are bad things.
So they get addicted to:
• Taking a year off to destress
• Labeling everything a medical disorder
• Watching superhero movies on Netflix
• Collecting anime adult soft toys (like a big baby)
• Binging on junk food for comfort
But the best addictions high performers know to be useful are the opposite.
High performers crave doing hard things.
They know stress is growth. They know fear is normal and they act on it. They understand uncertainty is the default and you beat it with action and evidence that proves confidence.
Society is becoming addicted to being soft.
Then people fail and they can't understand why. They seek out politics or some guru who supports their worldview...
...when the problem isn't that the world is collapsing. It's that we've stopped doing hard things.
if you question the softness you get accused of "hustle p*rn" which is immature.
Humanity has always been built on doing hard things. There's no avoiding it.
If you choose to avoid doing hard things, you will live an extremely hard life.
