it really epitomizes what i understand abt tvc. the only true respite from eternity is in your love for others and their love for you, but even peace borne by love is stamped with an expiration date, since time will always wear away the circumstances that allowed it to flourish…
hoping armand's astral projection-ish powers will get explored in the show at some point, and his ability to see ghosts and into what's seemingly another plane of existence. though they'd need to find a way to faithfully explore the religious themes.
realizing i naturally lean towards the former option, since this scene has always been one of the most convincing "armand has always been good" instances #tome.
in agreement with the sentiment, but it's worth mentioning that armand's frankensteining was an honest (albeit horrifying) attempt to grant claudia "her fondest wish." which gives rise to the thematically appropriate rice-ian question of whether evil is something you are or do <3
@midnightkiss85@hlor11n he literally played frankenstein with claudias body and cut off nicki’s hands for fun lmao. you can like armand but this is the evil vampire show where everyone is a bad person so you dont need to pretend that your fav is exempt from that
this is targeted at all participants in the incessant erroneous woobification -> overcompensatory and equally erroneous counterpoint chains plaguing iwtvtwt discussions. no group has the high ground here. and i need to start muting people and stop letting this bother me.
i know this isn’t fair to expect from anyone, but
i wish we could fully set aside considerations of what characters owe/are owed. if hell can be deserved, these vampires have all earned it. it’s more interesting to value subjective experience over the question of who’s right.
armand: vampires ALL GOTTA DIE
marius: hello i have been alive the whole time
armand: nevermind vampires can live in peace <3 master is here <3 yay <3
lestat: what is happening to you
armand: 🥰🥰🥰
marius: shrugs
lestat: ??????????

sorry, but i think armand at his core is indeed a small lost child, and that can coexist with the fact that he's a monster who does monstrous things. i truthfully don't see how someone could disagree?
no one can stop me from marimandifying when we call out your name.
why are we here? is it for nothing? and miserable lost armand. et tu? which, according to suetonius, could've really been: even you, my child?
