A big reason many murtads and ex-Muslims struggle with obligations such as salah, hijab, fasting, and other Obligatory acts of worship is that they dont believe in Humility and showing empathy to the next human ,they suffer from the disease of Ego these practices require humility before something greater than oneself.
Think about it; at the very core Islam is built on submission to God, not self-expression as the highest value.Take for example the obligatory Salah ;it is one of the greatest equalizers ever devised. Whether you are rich or poor, powerful or powerless, a king or a laborer, you stand shoulder to shoulder and perform the exact same prayer. No one gets a special version of worship because of their status.

The same principle exists During Hajj, a millionaire wears the same simple garments as an ordinary believer.
In the modern culture that increasingly treats personal autonomy as the highest good, acts that demand discipline, obedience, and humility can feel restrictive. But from the Islamic perspective, their purpose is precisely to remind human beings that they are servants of God first, and that worldly distinctions ultimately mean very little before Him.
