As a Reds fan since 1961, I can follow the team in ways that doesn’t enrich Phil and Reds front office. I’m patient.

@dotsonc It was one of the last games Fred Hutchinson managed. He stepped aside to be treated more aggressively for the cancer that killed him in early ‘65. He was 45yo. If not for the cancer, there is a good chance he would have been manager of the Big Red Machine. Then no Sparky who?

@dotsonc Crosley Field. 8/6/1964. The Reds beat the Braves 9-3 (still my favorite baseball score) Joey Jay was the winning pitcher. Aaron did hit a 3-run HR. Vada Pinson hit a HR in 1st. Frank Robinson got on base 5 times. Reds scored 4 off Warren Spahn in late relief. Rose didn’t play.

I love living in Cincinnati. Grew up in small town just west of the city but have spent much of my life living in one of Cincinnati’s great neighborhood. I (we) stopped thinking about moving to a city further north in retirement. We have everything here we want and 10 min drives.
