@johnredwood The 'heavily regulated ' water industry still managed to give out £billions in dividends and take on £billions in debt. Customers have been fleeced by companies far more concerned with extracting money than providing sufficient water.
@johnredwood Unfortunately we caused the problem by sometimes referring to sausages as 'bangers'. This led to confusion with EU customs officials, who had no choice but to categorise British sausages as 'fireworks'.

@wmarybeard Just returned from a break from Rome, during which we watched your 'Meet the Romans' series. It provided an importance context and contrast to the crowded ruins of imperial grandeur. Ostia antica is my favourite.
@Longm8 Their current website shows that Pakeesa get funding from the EU. Whether this includes the UK operation is not clear, but in any event they will have to comply with EU regulations.
@alicelowe The Duellists, early Ridley Scott film, set in the Napoleonic period . The attention to detail, changing hairstyles, uniforms etc., Is outstanding. Some scenes are like paintings coming to life.
