BREAKING NEWS: A trio of Hong Kong protesters was today sentenced to spend 16 to 18 years in prison for a 2020 bombing campaign.
They exploded bombs at a Hong Kong medical clinic and a railway station, causing damage but no deaths, so they so set out to make a third attack with 20 kilos of explosives, at a car park.
But they were caught by police after having made an apparent "declaration of war on society”, the court heard.
A nine-member jury found the three principal participants guilty of “conspiracy to cause an explosion of a nature likely to endanger life”. They were Lukas Ho Cheuk-wai, 41, who sold fishing supplies, Lee Ka-pan, 30, a renovator, and Cheung Ka-chun, 35, a computer programmer.
One psychiatrist told the court that Ho claimed to be motivated by care for young people at the protests but showed little interest in caring for his own child, a girl of 13.

MONEY AND EXPLOSIVES
The Hong Kong protesters of 2019-2020 were lionized by the western mainstream media and US politicians called for them to be given the Nobel Peace Prize -- but they included multiple groups dedicated to high-grade violence, including several individuals conspiring to make use of terrorist-grade explosives, enough to bring down buildings.
The operations came as a shock to the people of Hong Kong, which has long been one of the world's safest cities.
One 2019 Hong Kong protester group used the same explosives involved in the deadly terrorist bombings of London on 7 July, 2005.

AWASH WITH CASH
The Hong Kong protests were heavily funded by foreign forces, with protesters awash with cash from multiple sources.
- In one case, a would-be bomber named Wong Chun-keung found himself with so much money that he took a break from planning a mass casualty event to spend time gambling. “I used about HK$300,000 [US$40,000] of the donations to gamble. For me, it was a way to de-stress,” he told a court.
- In another case, a teenage protester had so much cash that he told the court that he had “rented a spare flat” to stow his explosives. (Hong Kong property is among the world’s most expensive).
- At the trial of anti-China publisher Jimmy Lai, a protester go-between told the court that a particular bank account had to be kept clear “for foreign funds”.
- Anti-corruption investigators found former US intelligence officer Mark Simon distributing millions to China critics, including Cardinal Joseph Zen.
- The National Endowment for Democracy's own records show that it fed tens of millions of US dollars into anti-China groups in Hong Kong over several years.
- A US leak to Time magazine in 2020 revealed that Donald Trump’s administration had secretly promised US$2 million for protesters to be channeled through the Hong Kong offices of Radio Free Asia, a group originally set up by the CIA as a propaganda operation.
- A failed Hong Kong news operation that was closing down was suddenly fed huge sums of money "in a clandestine manner" and relaunched itself as the wealthy Stand News, specializing in anti-China news, investigators told one court hearing.
More revelations coming. Stay tuned.
@ManSan1969@SEMAR_mx Lo estaban remolcando, en reversa. Lo que pasó no fue por culpa del buque y su tripulación. Pero vamos a ver ahora a quién le echan la culpa los gringos.
