Three months ago, I gave this intelligence to an officer of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).

Instead of taking the intelligence up the chain of command, he told me to go and report it directly to his boss, Mr. Alexander Twum-Barimah. I refused. My position was simple: if he had received credible intelligence, he should have briefed his superior and taken the necessary steps to organize the appropriate personnel for the operation.

That did not happen.

I therefore had to find another way to get the job done.

For obvious reasons, I will not disclose further operational details here. But the NACOC officer involved knows exactly what conversation I am referring to. He lives around McCarthy Hills, and if he sees this post, he will know exactly who I am talking about.

Intelligence is only useful when it is acted upon. When credible information is ignored, the consequences can be serious.
