Today we celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Jamaican bobsleigh team who secured the bronze medal at the North American Cup in Whistler, Canada.
Their hard work, discipline and determination have made Jamaica proud.
Congratulations to the entire team on this well earned success. We are inspired by your commitment and grateful for the way you represent our country on the international stage. 🇯🇲
Today, we celebrate 186 years since the end of slavery, a brutal system that our resilient ancestors overcame through immense determination. We honor their hard-fought battle and sacrifices for our freedom.
Together we remember the unconquerable spirit of our ancestors — the brave souls who broke the chains, who dared to dream of freedom, and who ignited a flame that would forever change the course of history. Today we raise our voices in jubilation.
We honour the legacy of our National Hero Sam Sharpe, whose sacrifice ignited a revolution. We remember his famous words in a letter to the British Parliament he said, “I would rather die upon yonder gallows than live in slavery”.
Happy Emancipation Day Jamaica! 🇯🇲 #EmancipationDay #Freedom
Brain 🧠 Drain.
Jamaica 🇯🇲 ranks 2nd Globally. Narrowly loosing not, to Somalia, Palestine, Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan ….not to a war torn, Civil war having regions.
No we beat all those. Samoa, but their population is only 200k so the math makes sense.
Flabbergasted.
👀 The only running we want to see this summer is our Jamaican athletes at the Paris Olympics.
If you are wanted, stop running and ketch you breath at the nearest blue and white building.

@JamaicaObserver A chastened government and a re-energized opposition, is a good thing for a healthy democracy. A complacent government gets arrogant and takes the electorate for granted. A vanquished opposition leaves the people’s business at the whim & fancy of a governing party. #Democracy🇯🇲

I'm not sure. I think we will be going on to some new madness. My heart goes out to the young man that lost his life and the lady that lost her leg. The color and life and party atmosphere was appreciated by some of us living abroad. #lovejamrock!
