Bournemouth have released a statement confirming they have dropped Alex Jimenez from their game against Fulham this weekend.

The club say this is in relation to an investigation into posts circulating on social media, which they describe as being of a serious nature.

The statement reads: “AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Álex Jiménez.

“The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.

“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Sky Sports News has attempted to contact representatives of Jimenez for comment.
