THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS ARE HEADED TO THEIR FIRST NBA FINALS SINCE 2014 🔥
The Spurs win Game 7 on the road to defeat OKC 4-3 in the Western Conference Finals, and advance to the NBA Finals for the 1st time in 12 years.
They will take on the Knicks in a rematch of the 1999 NBA Finals. Game 1 is in San Antonio on Wednesday, June 3 at 8:30pm/et on ABC!
Takeaways from the Spurs Game 5 loss vs. Oklahoma City:
- How embarrassing is it to play so lazy in the most important game of the season? The team look disinterested for 90% of the game.
- Victor Wembanyama, I have no words. You were utterly lazy. No rebounding, no aggressiveness, just shot chucking threes.
- Julian Champagnie kept both teams in the game. Lit up from three and was fried on defense
- Stephon Castle was probably the best player on the floor outside of his brutal start.
- But somehow you can make the case that Keldon Johnson was the best player on the floor. He kept the Spurs in it for a while.
- De'Aaron Fox has to get his offense going man. I understand he's hurt but he had plenty of good looks.
- Devin Vassell and Dylan Harper just disappeared. Dylan was terrible today.
- Luke Kornet was also unplayable again.
- Why did Carter Bryant get four minutes, score five points, and never see the floor again?
- I'm genuinely baffled at how you lay out a perfect game plan in Game 4 and proceed to do none of it in Game 5.
- The one time they played with energy and looked to control the pace they unloaded a 12-gauge into their foots. Careless turnovers, allowed offensive rebounds that turned into second chance points. Lazy.
- Once again they just settled for threes. 12/41. Lazy.
- Wemby shot 15 shots, he shot 15 in the first half in Game 4. How do you refuse to get your 7-5 center looks inside?
- Lost the rebounding battle and lost the game. That's been the trend all season.
- Tony Brothers needs to be investiaged.
- 17 FTAs for SGA.
- Cason Wallace can play FIBA rules.
- Mitch Johnson isn't allowed to challenge.
- Thunder role players once again took over this game.
- Eventually the defensive game plan will involve guarding Alex Caruso.
- Jared McCain had free eats all second half.
- Do or die game now in Game 6, and I have a bad feeling about it.
- But Air Corgi is still perfect, and he said Spurs in 7...
2-3. #PorVida
@nickshirleyy MN resident here living in Hennepin county. The crazy thing is that this will not change how people vote here. People would rather continue to vote blue blue blue no matter what is going on in right front of our faces.
Takeaways from the Spurs Game 2 loss vs. Oklahoma City:
- The Spurs played probably about as badly as they could and the Thunder were on the ropes all game
- De'Aaron Fox, I hope that ankle is ready by Friday, because you are very much needed
- Stephon Castle simultaneously kept both teams in the game, he was so good but yet so bad
- Thank you Devin Vassell for showing up from deep, we need you to keep that going
- Julian Champagnie has to figure it out, if he's not hitting threes you can make the argument for Carter Bryant
- Keldon Johnson's tunnel vision with the ball in his hands is just running through he can ending with a bad shot or turnover
- I'm not sure why there was so little looks for Victor Wembanyama, they got him going in the third, but that has to be for 48 minutes
- Did they forget how to take care of the basketball? Genuinely what is going on, if you have like seven less turnovers you probably win the game
- Every time they managed to make it close, there would be some abysmal turnover, or they would forget how to rebound
- I complimented the officiating in Game 1 and it somehow just went completely south
- That being said I want eyes on Isaiah Hartenstein the rest of the series, how did he finish the game?
- I'm also convinced they're teaching flopping, some of these flops are just shameless
- I figured SGA wouldn't shoot as bad as he did in Game 1, he had an MVP-type performance
- Eventually the defensive gameplan will involve guarding Alex Caruso
- The Spurs have to force more turnovers and I'm not sure how
- Spurs managed to win the rebounding and points in the paint battle, but at what cost
- The Spurs without point guards, playing as badly as they could, made the defending champs fight to the end on the road in must-win game for them, and they only came out on top by nine
- Dylan Harper please be okay
- To win in six, you have to lose two
1-1. We freaking move. #PorVida
I give the TNT App on Apple TV 0/5 stars. Freezes all the time. Tells me my network connection has been lost (it’s fine), and just closes for no reason. Lame.
