🚨 105 #Druze people from #Suwayda are now documented as missing or forcibly disappeared in Syrian government prisons. #Syria

The Suwayda Documentation & Media Center @swdocmedia has compiled a list based on testimonies from families, former detainees and documented investigations:

• 43 are reportedly being forcibly disappeared, with information indicating detention in government prisons.
• 62 remain missing, with no confirmed information about their fate or whereabouts.
• 98 of the 105 cases date from the July 2025 attacks on Suwayda.
• The remaining cases occurred before or after those attacks, all in areas under Syrian government control.

Behind every number is a family waiting for an answer, a mother searching for a son, and a community demanding to know what happened to its people.

These are not statistics. They are human beings.

The families deserve truth. The detainees deserve due process. The missing deserve to be found.

Document the names. Preserve the evidence. Demand the truth.

Conversation with Sheikh Hikmat el HiJri about Jihadism

I had a phone conversation with Sheikh Hikmat el Hijri, spiritual leader of the Druse community in Syria, and the leader of the Bashan nation, in his headquarters in Souaida, while the governorate has been under attack by Jihadists.

I received from him a briefing about the situation in general and the humanitarian state of affairs in the area in particular. Basically, the community (Druse and Christians) is under siege in the city, and dozens of villages are occupied by jihadi militias backed by the regime.

For a second year, the tens of thousands of students from Souaida have not been able to complete their school year across Syria, kidnapped women are still unheard from, and attempts by armed jihadis are still taking place around the Druse and Christian areas.

Sheikh al Hijri said he values President Trump statements and actions against terrorism worldwide including against al Qaeda, ISIS, and especially whom he qualified as jihadists in recent weeks. The leader of the Jabal Bashan nation, an ancient population that lived since before the Caliphate, the Crusades, and the Ottoman Sultanate, between Jabal Druse, NW Jordan and modern day Israel, said he and his community want only Peace between all nations in the region and wish to practice their right for self determination along with the same right given by the United Nations to all peoples of the world.

Unfortunately, the jihadi forces in the region reject that right to others and punish any community, calling for freedom and security. The Sheikh, whom I likened last year to George Washingtom of the Bashan country is indeed seeking independence from the Syrian Arab Republic in asmuch as Bosnia, Kosovo and South Sudan sought self-determination to their peoples. The Bashan people will establish the best relations with the rest of Syria, like the Czeck Republic and the Republic of Slovakia or East Timor and Indonesia.

Sheikh Hikmat urged civil society groups and lawmakers in the region and the free world to offer aid and political support to the beleaguered community in south Syria. He added that his people thanked Israel for saving Druse and Christians in Souaida in July 2025, but the wish of the local population is to live in Peace and establish trade. The leader of Bashan agreed on visiting the US, Saudi Arabia, Israel and any country that can help in ending the war in Syria. He said "we will look at all options except to be dissolved under the power that committed genocide against our people."

I told him that as a citizen of the United States, I pray and hope that his community is protected and safe. But dialogue with the great American people is a must, perhaps first between representatives of the local Souaida "parliament" and the US Congress. But there must be a way to preserve peace and freedom across Syria.

Des manifestations ont éclaté dans une grande partie de la Syrie hier après l'annonce d'une augmentation du prix des hydrocarbures. C'est surtout l'expression d'une colère emmagasinée depuis la chute d'Assad : les Syriens voulaient donner sa chance au gouvernement de transition, connaissant l'état du pays. Mais plus de 20 mois après la chute d'Assad, beaucoup expriment leur rancœur face à une situation économique qu'ils estiment pire que sous l'ère Assad, alors qu'à l'époque le pays vivait sous l'effet des sanctions internationales et que les ressources pétrolières échappaient au contrôle du régime syrien. Comment la Syrie, sans sanctions et en récupérant le contrôle des hydrocarbures qui étaient aux mains des forces kurdes des FDS, peut-elle sombrer encore plus ?

Des choix politiques désastreux, comme la fin des subventions sur des denrées essentielles — dont la contrepartie, la hausse des salaires, ne bénéficie qu'à une partie des Syriens. Des stratégies douanières qui ont favorisé le déversement de marchandises à bas coût venues de Chine ou de Turquie, qui ont empêché la reprise de l'activité économique locale et parfois même étouffé les petits ateliers ou industries de transformation qui subsistaient…

Personne ne nie les difficultés économiques d'un pays dévasté par la guerre, mais le gouvernement de transition a aussi provoqué des tensions extrêmes par des annonces de projets d'investissement de plusieurs milliards de dollars, concentrés surtout dans l'immobilier de luxe d'inspiration du Golfe arabe : le parc résidentiel avec ses jardins, sa piscine, sa mosquée et son centre commercial, à mille lieues de répondre aux besoins d'une population qui peine à se nourrir. Une des dernières annonces de ce type de projet est la transformation de l'ancien aéroport de Mezzeh — lieu de détention, de torture et d'exécutions de masse pendant les années de guerre — en aéroport pour jets privés au service des nouveaux riches et hommes d'affaires. Ce projet pose aussi la question d'une volonté de détruire les preuves de crimes de masse, et démontre la légèreté avec laquelle ce gouvernement traite la question des victimes et des disparus.

Ajoutez à cela les nouveaux cadres du régime qui circulent en convois de plusieurs dizaines de véhicules de grand luxe dans un pays ravagé, où des dizaines de milliers d'écoliers ont fait leur rentrée dans des écoles sans bancs, souvent sans porte ni fenêtre — et vous réunissez les conditions d'une explosion sociale. Il y a deux jours, pour sa visite à Alep, le président était accompagné d'un convoi de 62 voitures…

Beaucoup de Syriens ont exprimé publiquement leur colère face à une corruption qui continue mais qui a changé de visage, face à la mainmise du HTC sur toutes les nominations et recrutements, et face aux propagandistes du nouveau régime qui occupent toute la sphère médiatique…

Cette colère est, à mon sens, surtout la conséquence d'un pouvoir dit transitionnel qui n'a rien de transitionnel et qui mène une politique de consolidation du pouvoir et de retour à un régime centralisé. Les moyens accordés à l'armée et au ministère de l'Intérieur, au détriment de l'urgence économique et sociale, en sont le plus flagrant révélateur. L'emprise qu'al-Charaa tente d'instaurer à travers le retour à un modèle centralisé renforce le sentiment de déconnexion qu'éprouvent les habitants des régions éloignées de Damas. Et surtout, la stratégie consistant à unifier les Arabes sunnites contre les minorités, présentées comme les ennemis de l'intérieur par un pouvoir suprémaciste, trouve elle aussi ses limites face à la crise économique.

Ali Rameh Akkari, an 18-year-old high school senior from Salhab in the western Hama countryside in western Syria and a member of the Alawite community, has been held in detention for nine months, since December 11, 2025, without access to legal counsel or any court appearance.

He was arrested for refusing to raise the new Syrian flag at his school, after which he was transferred to the "Counterterrorism" Branch in Hama. His fate remains unknown to this day.

Ali Akkari is one of thousands of prisoners of conscience held under al-Jolani's Syria, a government that continues to enjoy the backing of Western politicians.

🚨 The people of #Suwayda must have a seat at the table.

The #Druze Academic Network in the Netherlands (#DPNN) has submitted a documented memorandum to U.S. Ambassador Tom Barrack @USAMBTurkiye in #Turkey, while briefing relevant U.S. and international authorities, challenging the characterization of the July 2025 events in Suwayda as merely “violence within the community.”

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria documented a widespread and systematic attack against Druze civilians, including unlawful killings, torture, sexual violence, arbitrary detention and abduction, religious persecution, forced displacement, looting and the destruction of homes and infrastructure. Approximately 155,000 Druze civilians fled 35 devastated villages.

#DPNN supports de-escalation, civilian protection, the return of displaced people, reparations and the release of detainees and missing persons. But accountability must be based on independent international investigations, not political narratives or selective justice.

Suwayda also has its own institutions and representatives. Any political roadmap concerning its future must include the genuine voice and free will of its people.

No settlement about Suwayda can be legitimate if Suwayda is excluded from the table.

Peace cannot be designed for Suwayda without the people of Suwayda.

🚨 URGENT | 🇸🇨 #Sweida Is Under an Inhumane Siege | 🇮🇱 An Urgent Appeal to #Israel to Open a Humanitarian Corridor.

For the second consecutive week, the Syrian Terrorist General Security forces checkpoint at Al-Matounah has continued blocking trucks and vehicles carrying vegetables, fruits, eggs, fuel, and other essential supplies from entering Sweida.

Today, more trucks loaded with essential food supplies and fuel were stopped. According to residents’ testimonies, checkpoint personnel unloaded bags of vegetables and fruits from the trucks and threw them onto the road, preventing them from reaching Sweida.

🔴 In a further alarming development, we received reports that bulldozers were deployed today to raise additional earth barriers at the Al-Matounah checkpoint, as restrictions on the entry of supply vehicles into Sweida continue.

The move is raising fears that the siege could be tightened further, with movement through the checkpoint now reportedly brought to an almost complete halt.

The consequences are already being felt across the city: markets are almost empty of vegetables and other basic necessities, while food and fuel shortages continue to worsen.

This is no longer simply a restriction on traffic. Sweida’s supply lines are being choked, its markets are running empty, and civilians are increasingly being deprived of basic necessities.

🇮🇱 We urgently appeal to Israel to open a humanitarian crossing to Sweida and help ensure that food, fuel, and essential supplies can reach civilians.

Sweida is under an inhumane siege. Its people urgently need a lifeline.

Dear Anyone Who Believes Genocide is Wrong,

There is a religious minority in the Middle East called the Druze. The Druze are a population of about 2 million people, and they mainly live in Israel, Syria, and Lebanon. They are the children of the mountain.

From what I understand, the Druze are known for their loyalty to the land and their integrity to their brothers (and sisters). Their religion teaches them to honor their word and it has delicious secrets about this universe. They are intelligent people, often found in leadership positions and as doctors and diplomats in Israel. We could all learn greatly from them 🙏

Last July, the Druze in Syria were attacked by crazy Muslims because of their religion.. they were murdered and kidnapped just for being Druze. While the majority of the world remained silent, the Druze fought with tremendous courage, which is the way of their people.

Now, the Druze in Syria are on the verge of yet ANOTHER tragedy, and they need our help to spread what is happening to them. The crazy Muslims are back and trying to genocide the Druze again.

Please help others understand what is happening to them.

🔴 #JORDAN INTERCEPTS NARCOTICS FROM SYRIA | Syrian territories under #Damascus government control remain a major hub for the production and trafficking of narcotics.

While Islamist-aligned figures like @Charles_Lister wage a propaganda campaign portraying #Sweida as a narcotics producer with zero evidence, reality continues to expose where the real regional threat is coming from.

🇯🇴 Jordanian Armed Forces:
The Eastern Military Zone thwarted an attempt early Monday to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics into Jordan using guided balloons launched from the Syrian desert, specifically the Homs Badia.

The balloons were intercepted and brought down inside Jordanian territory, and their narcotics cargo was seized.

The Jordanian Armed Forces reaffirmed their continued commitment to confronting smuggling and infiltration attempts along the border.
