One of my major goals with the #BendyMovie is that people who know NOTHING about #BENDY can enjoy it and fully understand it as a self-contained horror/thriller film.
BUT ALSO, if you ARE a fan, you will get even MORE out of the movie because you will pick up on all the special references, moments, small character details, and easter eggs. :)
In the end, I don't want someone to NOT enjoy the film because they DIDN'T PLAY the game. A movie needs to stand on its own merit. I think our story is one that can adapt to film well in a universally appealing way, if we take the time to properly make it.
As Joey once said:
Just a pencil and a dream isn't enough.
You have to have heart.
Call me crazy but what are the odds of it being BatIM Ink Bendy in DbD.... low..?... very low.....
BatDR design would fit DbD sooo much better but let a girl dream
there's currently 6 games in development for bendy. two of which are cage and batif. cage having the priority at the moment, while batif remains in our internal version pre-production where we continuously discuss the game but don't implement anything as that time is slated for cage. the remaining titles are either outsourced or already developed, we're in no rush with these projects, we want to take our time and do things the best we can. also because there's a number of other projects in mind that we want to wait for the right time and/or team.
aside from the games, we're still deep in development on the movie, which is in an exciting phase right now. i'm still on the hunt for both 2d and 3d animation studios to work with on various series, yes both. and we're also working on some other bendy collabs and stuff, primarily products more so than games. There's currently only 1 game related collab that's in talks, and has been for a while, and probably the only one we'll entertain until something intriguing comes along.
in any event, this long winded post is just me giving you all a random update on things being worked on, and is also by no means confirming anything, but I'm sure dots that don't exist will be connected :P
Take this as your average update from mike saying "yup, still working on lots of stuff with nothing to show" as is typical fashion here at Joey Drew Studios.
Also for what it's worth, unit sales of all bendy games have increased, even without discounts active, so there's still waves of new audiences yet to experience Bendy. and hopefully soon this year new players will get the best experience once our updates come out for all the games on all platforms.
ANYWAYS, i'm gonna go get another coffee and work on the cage. ✌️
It's always funny to me how articles talk about how Bendy was inspired by FNAF. I guess people just assume that. It absolutely was not. :) What FNAF did, without realizing it at the time, was set the stage for Bendy by gathering up an emerging audience that was, until then, mostly under-served. I originally made the first go of Bendy just for me. I was having fun just making a game that I never thought would be played. I just love creating characters and worlds.
I have NOTHING against FNAF at all.. I know very little about it actually. I hugely cheer their success. :) But I think I need to say clearly again: Not one thing about Bendy was inspired by FNAF. Any overlap was purely just two minds thinking alike at a similar moment of the internet. :) If anything, Slender Man probably had more influence from an overall horror aspect at the time, but not much.
No hate to OP, but there is ZERO rule saying your sona has to look like you. A sona is a fictional representation of yourself or something you use to represent yourself in general. Just have fun with it and do what you think fits you the best regardless of your irl appearance.
