We don't yet live in a world of "re-education camps" to correct "harmful ways of thinking", but we are in a world where the systems of thought necessary to support that kind of thing are already in place.

People on the Left would like those who do not agree with them on issues like abortion, trans ideology, and DEI to have their speech called "hate speech", and to make this "hate speech" illegal.

People NOT on the Left do not want this for others. Because they are not sociopaths who want to silence - by any means - any outside opinion. Being in favor of things like assassination and censorship isn't what "good guys" do. Very much the opposite.

You understand that, no matter how ineffective Trump has been (and it hasn't all been bad, he has lived up to some of the promises, despite the knives in his back from legacy Republicans), you have to remember that the alternative is literal Big Brother.

Regardless of whether you think the issue of the facts of residential schools has been overblown, or your grandmother was in a residential school, EVERYONE should want the truth, and everyone should want their decisions and judgements to be based on truth.
