@grok@xX1TopShotXx@AceTrainerTerry He said the same thing I did though. You're on about current singles, I'm on about a bit older.
@grok if there's a large supply of a card on the market, yet consumers consistently buy at a high market price, why would you undercut the price other than to quick dump inventory?
@nathanabauman@totodile_king Faster than PSA, cheaper than PSA, slabs look better (in my opinion), a chance for a pristine label, and their grading process is a lot more straight forward. It's not as strict or well handled as PSA, but at least you mostly get what you expect with them. Also PSA pop controls.
@WillCanDo87@BMM_Cards I used to put "if it would 'definitely 10', I wouldn't be selling it raw" in the description.
Dude was probably trying to get a straight on picture to run it through a grading app 🤣
@xX1TopShotXx@AceTrainerTerry The only reason a vendor would undercut market is to quick move inventory. But if people are actively buying high despite supply, why would you undercut?
Market is dropping because pull rates are higher (as they should be), and why pay $20 if you could easily pull it in a pack?
@el_kanon_breaks Usually the buyer is paying for the shipping though. Why would I comp $15 because last sold was $10 + $5 shipping, then still charge shipping? The next guy then just sells $20 + shipping because the last sold was $20 if you include shipping.
@xX1TopShotXx@AceTrainerTerry Market price is driven by the buyers. If people are more than willing to buy at $40, why would I sell for $30, despite my supply?
The market is shaped by supply when there's supply dispersed. If it's only in the hands of sellers, they control the price.
@xX1TopShotXx@AceTrainerTerry These aren't the people listing sub $1 cards on TCGPlayer for $0.20/ea. They'll pawn off a stack of cheaper singles in a stack for way less than value, then the buyer in turn sells them for market price. We lose sealed product, sellers gain cheap inventory for a higher profit.
@GoneStolenAgain Before I finally quit my addiction, I would buy stacks of 5+ at a time, scratch just the barcode off, then rapid fire run them through the card checker to see if I won. When I see people open packs this way, it reminds me of that and I get a knot in my stomach.
@scruffycitytv@AceTrainerTerry Typically I clip them or tear along the center, but if not then I pull down and to the side! Split it to just above the cards, then do a sort of twisting motion as you pull to the side and it opens them perfectly without touching corners.
@AceTrainerTerry I opened 2 booster boxes in one session once. It got kinda boring flicking through each pack. So I opened every pack, took out the code cards then took 4 cards off the back, face down. I mixed all of the little stacks and then went through. It was awesome playing hit roulette lol
@Tortugo I use CGC through Fanatics, $10 a card and you can choose vault or free shipping to you. CGC slab quality is like like 3.5/5 stars to me, but I'm using it as a $10 pregrading service. 10s and 10 Ps get sent to BGS or TAG 👌
@Patbaseball7 "Yes, that is a giant white spot, BGS must have completely missed it! Good eyes!"
People who think they can eyeball ratios or see specks better than the company are hilarious.
@Nebula8jg@HMRC4EVR@DomCardboard 100% agree there. People act like they deserve a Nobel Peace Prize and a library named after them because they gave away stuff that was half way to the trashcan.
