In the council scene of Digger, Lady Justice is weighing between the snake and apple… the snake is hissing aggressively, just like Digger is hissing at every one of them in the chamber 😂 Is truly the snake to blame that Adam and Eve took a bite of the apple? Or are they blaming the snake, refusing to take accountability of their action?
On Curtis’s dressing room mirror, there’s a card with snake wrapped around a shovel, between his family photos. (Maybe a good luck card from Hope?)
And every time I see this on screen I can’t stop to think that this is probably how Digger Rockwell is perceived in their world—the snake with shovel who kicked humanity out from the garden of Eden
And just minor detail about its appearance;
It wasn’t there the first time the mirror is shown in the movie. This only shows up during the second dressing room scene, when Curtis’s assistant tells him the script was changed. But then this card disappears a few angle change later (might be the continuity error lol)
I loved the detail of lighter🥹 I was wondering it him only pretend to write it because
A. You can’t smoke on stage since the theater is clean air zone
B. There’s no more oil (not even for lighters)
Also Digger looking at Ganesh with cig in his mouth is my fav scene 😭 he looks so cute!!
really like the detail that digger was going to light a cig but once ganesh and the others come in he switches to a cigar
and i /really/ like that between this scene and the oil rig, he never actually lights either because it's ya know [hand gestures]
In the script, Tom Cruise was actually supposed to dodge the shoe, but after he got hit with it he just kept going and they liked it so much that they put it in the movie #Digger#true
Did anyone else noticed the clocks are set to 22:10 on the mirror phone call screens in Digger?
I wonder if all the continuity error I’ve seen in Digger is trying to tell us something🤔 (there are minor actor/prop location differences but that still could be just ‘movie’ being ‘movie’ where editing different shots. But most notably photos and cards on Curtis’s mirror keep changing locations between different angle of shots within same scene, and Maggie’s neck was already broken before we get a closer shot at the actor actually breaking her neck.)
I’ve always thought all of those must have been minor continuity error… but this time around (at my 10th round of Digger 😂 ) I realized every watch was set to 22:10.
This is certainly not a continuity error, but why is every watch and clock at 22:10? The prop watches are for the Fossil Fools play; I get that those are just props. But why the clock on the phone screen on the mirror also shows 22:10? Also, why not 10:10? If it was 10:10, it could’ve looked like something else (date, or some icon or code), but 22:10 definitely is a clock—Is this because the ‘prop smartphone’ was used during production, where the clock value is set to 22:10? Could it be because where the movie ‘Digger’ is ‘filmed’ isn’t our world, but the world that is shown at the end of the movie? Are we watching a movie made for the audience who lives in that world? Is that why the “level 4” announcement disrupts the credit roll music; not because the movie wanted to tell us the world we live in is the extension of the world portrayed in Digger, but because it was for the actual audiences in the theater?
Once I realized this movie is for those living in ‘that world’, I started seeing props placed like PPL; vodka bottle placed right in the middle of screen, or a supply box with Jung Fresh (which I assume might be a grocery delivery service) logo on it, or the luxurious mask with a name Lungz.
Also then everything Kenny does in the movie—solves arguments, finding Hope with nothing but her number, funding an expensive play for the love of human made art and community—is part of ‘message’ wrapped into the movie. Sharing data is good. Trust the surveillance state. The Fossil Fools were greedy and ignorant, but that’s a thing of the past!
The streets you see outside the theater; that must be what the actual audiences in ‘that world’ sees outside their theater. Flooded streets, drones flying in formation, soldiers on every corner. But the only violence that happens during the ending credits is some kids throwing something at the soldier standing in lower level, shouting ‘fascists!’ But the soldier doesn’t shoot back or doesn’t even pose threat. He just ducks and hides. He seems almost peaceful, compared to those kids.
As if to show that those damn kids on the streets yelling fascists are the problem, not the soldiers literally policing the very streets. Because ‘compliance is freedom’. If you trust and have faith in ‘higher power’, you will have your freedom….
this is what ive been saying. the point of digger is in the contradiction. we'll always make art. art is important for us and for community. art cant change the world. art isnt praxis. art can be corrupted and manipulated & a tool for mass control and manipulation. art has value
another thing i found interesting was that curtis’ dressing room had two prosthetic masks, one of which resembled tom and the other presumably resembled the real digger rockwell, and the actor’s likeness being chosen is another way men like digger get humanised in a twisted sense
@imi_mi_kin 💯!! Everytime I watch, I find something new. And the movie is just so good I never get bored even thought I know the entire movie!!🍿 worth a rewatch for sure
