Per source: Red Sox close to finalizing a trade centering around teel and Braden Montgomery in return for Garrett crochet. Can’t wait for Passan to credit me.
Putting Chaim and Craig in the same rank is moronic. Chaim did a solid job with unreasonably high expectations and ownership limitations.
Craig breslow has had the easiest situation / job of all of them and has done an absolutely pathetic job.
Rank the last five GM/POBOs (The move makers) for the Boston #RedSox.
My list...

Craig Breslow/Chaim Bloom (Tied)
@ZackScottSports Genuinely curious - there has been a lot of talk about Theo “running the deadline” if they fire breslow. Do you think that is a legit possibility? Or just “fun twitter talk” for the fans?
Agreed w @jayhaykid . Infuriating for the real Sox fans. Breslow makes himself more available, and then we get a bunch of pointless questions. Disservice to the fans. They did it all for Twitter clips.
I know everyone loves to dog Craig Breslow, but imagine how annoying it is to have to answer for why your baseball team hasn’t hit at home over a 30-game sample to some credulous dopes when we all know the answer is almost certainly “no real reason at all/sample size”
Fucking pathetic man. Breslow finally starts to make himself more available to the media, and these guys just use it to ask dumb ass questions for clicks. Infuriating. Some of us actually care about this team. @GregHillWEEI@coxcourtney@_ChrisCurtis@TheGregHillShow
Greg: "Do you feel like you need an interpreter?"... "We could test it out if you want..." Does CBO Craig Breslow agree with Theo Epsteins (paraphrased) comments? Is there 'too much of a reliance of analytics in the game'? #TheoEpstein#BaseballAnalytics#MLB#baseball
So, just wrapping up the last 72 hours in Red Sox land.
- Craig Breslow’s shortcomings (along with some positives) are amplified in the Globe. Also, with Theo not agreeing with his approach.
- Theo goes on record talking about the importance of scouting, which the Red Sox haven’t valued in the same capacity.
- David Ortiz speaks publicly on John Henry’s concerns about the team.
- IKF alludes to some weirdness going on with the Red Sox when they’re at home.
- Buster Olney reports on how desperate the Red Sox are to add a RHH. To the point, they may even take on a bad deal.
Ever gone to a foreign country and desperately wished you had an interpreter with you?
Life as the Smartest Man in Baseball can be a lonely place.

Theo Epstein has been disappointed by the Sox’ intense analytical direction under Craig Breslow, multiple league sources told @timbhealey.
Epstein recommended Breslow for the Red Sox CBO position. Breslow described their communication as “ebbs and flows.”
@ramit tipping being thrown in your face constantly has made it feel more like an obligation than a generous act, IMO. This AM, a homeless guy asked me for a coffee so I got him one when I went in. That makes me feel more generous than tipping the same amount as the coffee was.
@redsoxstats Historically, have other players around the league been successful about cutting their chase rate to such a significant degree? I thought it was extremely rare outside of people like acuna in his early days. But I def could be wrong. Impressive nonetheless, hope he keeps it up.
@JimDavignon The Red Sox have ranked 8th in spending but 17th in win% in this 2022-26 window. The bigger problem has been competence (and some bad luck) as they rank 22nd in that combined area.
