I’m the guest who asked the question and I applaud Jameson @Lopp for his brutal honesty in divulging his financial interests in the “problem” that’s solved by blowing out OP_RETURN.
@stephanlivera@Puncher522 Great analogy actually, since water filters also don’t filter everything out. Your argument is, since it does not remove all the spam lets just remove the filters. That is ridiculous.

Vais passar vergonha. Outra vez!

@HODLingOnward@hodlonaut@rabbitholerecap@MartyBent All good.
I understand there is a difference between policy and consensus... I also understand that: "they have ALWAYS been allowed"
But, can you please explain me why you want to change the default data carrier size to 100KB?
@HODLingOnward@hodlonaut@rabbitholerecap@MartyBent But why allow higher Op-Returns? Even if optional, expanding default data limits incentivises uses that dilute Bitcoin’s monetary focus and increase all sorts of potential attacks and unintended consequences.
@HODLingOnward@hodlonaut@rabbitholerecap@MartyBent They are not sticking with the essence of what Bitcoin is - Money. As you know, they changed the Op-Return from 80 bytes to 100KB. That is a 1250x increase. With this, even small videos can be uploaded. This is why I say they failed to stick with BTC.
