Seems like Karnataka RTO is selling phone numbers to showrooms and service centres.
Today I got a call from a newly Bosch Service centre offering a free general checkup.
When I asked where they got my phone number, they openly told me that their owner got phone number from RTO.

@Goutham29R I am assuming you travelled in coastal region. Coastal belt along the highway is developed commercially. Hence, you don't see small villages. A few kms towards ghats, scene changes entirely.
