Big milestone for RavenLedger this week.
We introduced one of our most important finance-control updates so far: manual journal approval workflows.
This is more than just another workflow improvement. It brings stronger governance, clearer approval visibility, and better control over one of the most sensitive areas of financial processing.
With this rollout, RavenLedger now supports:
✅ Manual journal approval workflows
✅ Approval inbox foundation
✅ Approval groups and approval rules
✅ Approval status and posting status visibility
✅ Journal approval history and auditability
✅ Cleaner journal posting-state tracking
✅ Better review, approve, reject, and open-journal actions
✅ Improved finance control from submission through approval and posting
The screenshots show both sides of the experience:
On the journal entry side, finance users can create manual journals with clear approval and posting status visibility.
On the approval inbox side, approvers can review pending journals, inspect the journal details, view line-level debit and credit information, and approve or reject with confidence.
This is a major step toward making RavenLedger a stronger, more controlled, and more enterprise-ready ERP platform.
Finance teams need more than data entry.
They need control.
They need visibility.
They need accountability.
They need confidence in every journal that reaches the ledger.
That is exactly what we are building with RavenLedger.

Builders using local AI:
What local LLM do you actually trust for coding right now?
Qwen Coder?
DeepSeek Coder?
Codestral?
StarCoder?
Llama?
Something else?
Also curious: what hardware are you running it on?

ERP myth 3:
“Reports solve everything.”
Reality:
Reports are only useful if the transactions behind them are clean, timely, and connected.
Bad data creates beautiful but useless reports.

This is exactly why I asked yesterday:
What’s your Plan B if your AI coding tool becomes unavailable?
Outages, limits, policy changes, provider decisions, export controls — builders need resilience.
AI should accelerate development, not become a single point of failure.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

ERP myth 2:
“ERP is only accounting.”
Reality:
ERP is the transaction backbone of the business.
Accounting is the result.
Operations are the cause.

Codex or Claude?
For production software, which one has helped you move faster?
I have built RavenView inside RavenLedger — an AI layer that learns in a controlled loop from user questions and successful interpretations.
It gets smarter over time without bypassing permissions or tenant boundaries.

ERP Myth #1:
“ERP is only for large companies.”
Reality:
SMEs need ERP the moment sales, inventory, cash, payroll, tax, and reporting become too connected to manage separately.
ERP is not about company size.
It is about transaction complexity.
At what point do you think a business really needs ERP?

Question for builders:
If cloud AI coding tools went down tomorrow, what’s your Plan B?
Would you:
A) go back to coding fully manually
B) run a local LLM
C) keep an offline coding assistant ready
D) use open-source models
E) pause until services return
Curious what serious builders are doing for resilience.
Which local model or setup would you trust on your own machine?

@alexabelonix Thanks, appreciate it 🙌
Curious what your own backup plan looks like — local LLM, open-source model, or just clean architecture + manual coding when needed?

My take:
AI should speed up development, not become the only way we can develop.
The real backup plan is clean code, good docs, Git discipline, and maybe a local LLM as support.

ERP should answer questions, not create more work.
With RavenView inside RavenLedger, users can ask:
“Show working capital metrics for this month.”
And instantly get key ratios like current ratio, quick ratio, DSO, margins, working capital, and debt-to-equity — with export-ready results.
No report hunting.
No waiting for month-end.
Just live business answers.
RavenLedger
Enterprise capability. SME simplicity. Live answers.

If you use or manage an ERP system, I’d love your input.
What are the two features you wish every ERP system had, but most still don’t get right?
Your feedback can help shape a better cloud ERP.

What if closing a financial period took less than a minute?
With RavenLedger, subledger transactions flow into the general ledger live as they are recorded.
Live ledger. One-minute close. Stronger control.

In many ERP systems, the same organization is recorded multiple times — as a customer, vendor, employee, or tax authority.
Our Trading Partner master brings them into one place.
Less duplication. Cleaner master data.
