@FI_InvestIndia I agree, the railway has many customers, they can make money anyway post cancellation of tickets but as common man we loose the money for transaction and cancellation charges. Common people should get the benefit of the system.
I booked 2 tickets (up and down) for my mother in law (senior citizen) in 3 AC. Total cost was โน1565. This included UPI transaction charges as well.
We cancelled her ticket and we got back โน1130. This means we spent โน430 (27% of the paid value even though we are not travelling)
Now, why am I sharing this? This is why.
- Her ticket will eventually be bought by someone else, who also pays โน1565 or maybe much much more in Tatkal.
- Two People who are in RAC position also pay the FULL amount but share their seat with someone else.
- The Cancellation Charge is too High which becomes a burden for Tax Paying Citizens.
I request @AshwiniVaishnaw ji to consider the following:
- Please bring back Senior Citizen Subsidy. It really would acknowledge their contribution.
- Please reduce the cancellation charges, since you anyway recover the amount from the WL/RAC passengers. It should not be more than 10% of the cost paid (>24 hours before departure).
- We pay transaction charges of โน20 - โน30 for every ticket we buy using UPI. This needs to be much lower & this does not get refunded back.
- For RAC passengers, it is unfair to pay the full amount and yet share the seat with another passenger. Please refund the extra amount back to them, since you can use the technology to do that.
If you do the above, you do not lose much, but you stand to gain respect and blessings of Crores of Indians whose money goes to waste.
Request my audience to Repost this widely, tag relevant ministers and let us make this happen.

One of my father's close friends, a retiree had put 1 Cr in a scheme, where he was promised 12% FIXED interest every year. It was a Gold Company.
He got back:
Yr 1 - 12 Lakh
Yr 2 - 12 Lakh
Yr 3 - 12 Lakh
Seeing his success, his friends also invested few crores of life savings.
Yr 4 - 12 Lakh
Yr 5 - Company went bust
So, he got back 48 Lakh, but lost his principal. He lost his friends, their money. Psychologically, very taxing.
Learning:
- If anyone offers you more than FD returns (Fixed return above 7 to 8%), please take this with a pinch of salt.
- Most people invest their life savings in such schemes. Please note that, even in a bank, only upto 5 Lakh is insured and even that is not easy to recover, in case of a problem in the bank.
- There are many unregulated companies with such debt schemes. Some give 10%, some 12% etc. AVOID.
- Never put your life savings in such schemes. The RBI will not insure above a certain amount. Also, most of the cases, it gets written off.
- We are common man. The court case will probably get resolved, after we are gone.
- There is no free lunch. Take high interest, reward points, easy credit with lots of caution.
Return of Capital is more important than Return on Capital.

Don't worry about adapting to the current business ecosystem. Sticking to outdated methods and ignoring new trends is definitely the way to go. Innovation? Totally overrated. #BusinessAdvice#StayStagnant
The judicial system's inability to make timely decisions is alarming, as lawyers protest against the Karnataka( Muddebihal, Bijapur) court judge for unjustified delays in orders. Justice delayed is justice denied. #JudicialReform#KarnatakaCourt#JusticeForAll#LegalProtests
Lost voter data? Just what we needed to boost confidence in our electoral process. Maybe the missing files are taking a vacation with our trust in the system. More than 1 lakh voters data missing Kalyan West, District Thane, Maharashtra. #Elections2024#DataDisaster

@MohiniWealth Looks like I stumbled upon life's cosmic joke: here I am, dressing like a thrift store mannequin, earning a fortune, while the fashionista next door struts in designer threads, earning pennies. Who knew simplicity was the new currency?"
