@PatsCricPol@WrestleOps The percussion was always there in the first Tribal Chief Roman song. It got removed in the orchestral remix they made for Wrestlemania 40 and used throughout his babyface run.
@amonkeynut@WolfeyGlick I think IVs are pretty definitively gone, at least as long as Champions is the official platform for VGC. They did provide some interesting skill expression at top level, but I don't think anyone will miss resetting static encounters to get specific IVs.
@kortecktv@WolfeyGlick Glad you're having fun! It's always nice seeing so many people finally getting to enjoy VGC firsthand now, after years of competitive being locked behind owning/finishing a bunch of games and grinding.
@bradeninsane@WolfeyGlick Dude, there were items present in the literal pre-release demos for Champions that were deliberately removed from the final version of the game. So much of this stuff is already baked in there. The stated goal of Champions from the start was making VGC more accessible.
One of my favorite things about Pokemon as a competitive game is the sheer amount of options it gives the player in teambuilding, so it may be surprising that I actually think the limited options Champions presents is actually a huge win in many ways
Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 went 24 minutes. All the women’s matches combined on Saturday WrestleMania has went under 24 minutes.
Very embarrassing. We’re going backwards.
@Jwrasslintakes Like, it was definitely much better than Cody's match at Mania 41, but still super messy booking all around. Michael Cole making strange calls and hyper-focusing on Pat, the heel Randy injury angle felt awkward, and of course the atrocious build.
Here's a stat that's about to blow your mind.
In Ring Wrestling Time: 1 hour, 26 minutes total across 7 matches
Ad time: APPROXIMATELY 1 hour and 14 minutes.
12 LESS MINUTES OF ADS THAN WRESTLING.
TKO are genuinely ruining EVERYTHING.
#WrestleMania
@WrestlingHumble Like... who booked this match? Why is heel Randy working an injury angle while face Cody dominates all match? Why build sympathy for Randy, have him turn on Pat out of nowhere, lose, and THEN punt kick Cody at the end? The crowd was confused all match. What a mess.
@Br0cK689@Chocobo_Kid@TheBigCott@MoxieBoosted The clown crashed out and blocked me lmao. I'll just clarify here that if anything, I'm sucking ILCA's dick. Nintendo had nothing to do with this game. I never said Champions is better than Showdown, just that it is an actual game and Showdown is a fan-made website simulator.
@Br0cK689@Chocobo_Kid@TheBigCott@MoxieBoosted There are a lot of reasons to play an actual game with incentive structure, rewards, and visuals over some shitty looking fan website that's been practically the same for 20 years. People want an intentional experience. To have fun and be immersed. Showdown is a tool, not a game.
@speranzahoarder@IGN Buddy, this is not a game running real time action or precise maneuvers where 60 frames is actually a massive improvement. It's a god damn turn-based battle simulator. It doesn't need to run at 60 fps.
@Br0cK689@Chocobo_Kid@TheBigCott@MoxieBoosted Champions ladder might be worthless to you, but a lot of people pro and casual enjoy playing the actual games on a console, laddering with mons they have an emotional attachment to, and having an experience with flashy visuals and sound effects and animations.
@speranzahoarder@IGN Tbf this is also a mobile game. It needs to be able to run on a wide range of phones. 30 frames is perfectly fine considering all the stadium effects, animations, and models. The Switch 2 version needs to have parity with the mobile ports. The resolution bug is dumb though.
@Protomario Battle Revolution was a $50 Wii game that REQUIRED the Gen 4 DS games (another console and game to buy) to access those 500 mons outside rental teams. In many cases you needed the Gen 3 games too. Champions is a f2p platform for VGC. Pokémon will never host competitive 6v6.
> Juego de Wii (~35-45€)
> Necesitabas una DS con un juego de DS
> Si quieres más Pokémon necesitas un amigo con DS/una segunda DS y otro juego
> Para jugar competitivamente necesitas entrenar Pokémon en los juegos (~15 h por Pokémon en unos juegos LENTISIMOS)
Seamos serios
@ScubaShark88@bdickinson220@GameboyLuke They just took away 1 of its several viable sets. Arch still gets a crazy signature move and great abilities. It keeps everything that made it unique and powerful as a special attacker. They only took away one niche it snatched from other mons who needed Body Press to be viable.
Just so you guys are aware - Pokémon Champions is free.
186 Pokémon is plenty for season zero.
It's day ONE.
The battles are fun, and well animated.
The game is meant to widen competitive accessibility, not appeal the 1% of die-hard comp trainers.
Calm down.
