We need to start in the homes and not turn a blind eye. The abusers a lot of time are family members that folks willfully ignore. Also mothers should know that if it happened to them it’s not ok and make sure they don’t set their own daughters up to be another statistic.

I was a police commissioner in the burbs. I went into the police station asking for help because of my now ex and the officers told me they didn’t have enough people to help me. Told me to go home and call. They didn’t know I was the commissioner so I reported to to the chief.
