in the most respectful way a venue will not accommodate you in the way you are trying. being a wheelchair user in the pit is a huge liability cause it’s really dangerous. does that mean you shouldn’t get to experience it or enjoy the show? no. but it’s for your safety to use ada.
i literally was frozen the entire time during that scene it felt like no one was taking it as serious as glenn after too,, they should have shot that man on first contact
The way she was sexually assaulted by the governor doesn't get talked about enough in the fandom and in the show. It was unnecessary and never comes up again. I feel like they just put her through that to show the audience how resilient she is and I dislike that alot
@jurassicliz they want help getting access to GA barricade,, but this venue is designed terribly for accessibility which is why they were offered ada seating
@moonlarking@abbadeepcuts it’s not setup well for emergencies though, if you look at photos of the venue you can see how badly designed it is for accessibility
@multixiaorose i think if a mobility aid user wants to brace the pit that is so validly their choice, as long as they recognize how it will affect others. and this is just frustrating cause the venue is not designed well at ALL for mobility aid users in pit,, its very unsafe to not use ada
so ppl with disabilities can go in the front seat barricade while everyone else gets a fair shot to regular barricade. cause otherwise some fans may understand us using it for this purpose but the general audience is not going to and also going to want a fair shot at barricade
barricade can absolutely be an accommodation the issue is trying to use it in the ga crowd for that purpose can be messy. it is not 100% you get it and you can get pushed,, highly suggest everyone look into portable stools/canes for concerts (you can also get canes w seats!!)
barricade is not a disability accommodation btw pls get out of your own head. i grew up with a disabled mother and i fight heavily for disabled persons when it comes to their rights. this however i can’t get behind, you want special treatment and privileges, just say it
the other issue is unlike the ada section not everyone is aware you are using barricade as an accom. one of the two shows i passed out at i was on barricade in ga for a show and i was getting pushed all over. it would be great if more venues did the double barricade strat
@pansrighthand exactly!! like yes they can go in pit anyways if they want, and make their own decisions, but it does not cancel out the fact the situation is risky and dangerous. that venue is just really not built for wheelchair users if you don’t use the ada section
@fatpussybitchh@garbageking15 no literally looking at photos ada looks way better and being on the floor looks like escape level 3000 for people with mobility aids in an emergency
hi pqrt,, is me getting a finger up the ass once every few months to ensure my spine hasn’t made me incontinent too disabled for you.. or not enough? let me know so i can improve my grades thoroughly
hi don’t assume strangers disabilities! i have extreme sciatica from a previous herniated disc that has provided me many issues. when i flare up i absolutely need canes/wheelchairs, i shouldn’t have to explain myself but it seems some people like to assume my experiences :)
