Something I’ve been thinking about since yesterday’s post…

When people condemn parents for supporting a transgender child, I’d genuinely like to know what they think we should have done instead.

My daughter told us who she was. She knew before I did.

Was I supposed to tell her she was wrong?

Punish her?

Demand that she become the child other people thought she should be?

Disown her?

I have three children. I’ve never believed that loving them means moulding them into versions of themselves that make me,or society, more comfortable.

Parenting isn’t about choosing who your children become. It’s about giving them the security, love and confidence to become who they already are.

That’s what I did for my daughter.

And I’d make that same choice every single time. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️
