Research from Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (January 2026) points to the overwhelming role of the world's oceans, deep ocean currents and water vapour.

These are the powerful drivers of regional climates around the world. The study argues the geological thermostat is governed by calcium levels in the Earth's crust and seafloor - not by the atmosphere and not CO2.

By ignoring the natural role of chemical regulators of calcium levels, institutions have created a mistaken narrative. The protagonists of the campaign have treated CO2 almost as a planetary poison, overlooking its biological utility.

The study reveals the planet's long-term thermostat is actually set by calcium levels in the ocean, which dictate how much carbon is locked away in the seafloor. This suggests the ocean's chemical state - not just the atmosphere - is the primary driver of the carbon cycle.

This was confirmed by the latest satellite studies of shifts in vegetation by NASA and ESA (European Space Agency). The greening trend is continuing and widening, and 70% is attributed to higher CO2. We're seeing new greening hotspots in India, China and even the Arctic as growing seasons lengthen.

If CO2 is 'pollution' why is Earth's total leaf area expanding? The new green abundance is planet wide. Earth's natural systems are managing the planet far better than by any UN bureaucracy.

Atmospheric CO2 is not the 'climate control knob they claim. It's a trace gas at only 0.042% of the air. The gradual increase in CO2 over many decades has increased global greening. It's time to recognise that CO2 is plant food, not a toxic byproduct.
