Today: Across the hills and plains of Westmoreland, we met strong, determined citizens. Moved quickly to get relief into communities where homes, churches, businesses, entire districts, were damaged or destroyed... the needs are great... Across Westmoreland, we met residents doing their best to cope after significant loss.
With @RhodaMCrawford @rayice2000 and our team, we focused on getting some relief into areas where homes, churches, small businesses, entire districts were badly affected.
I’m grateful to everyone who has been assisting so far. There is a long road ahead, and we will need all hands on deck to support families through this period.
The people of Westmoreland continue to show resilience, even in very very challenging circumstances.

One of several stops - Bluefields Bay Villas, an epicenter of relief efforts in Westmoreland, which bore the brunt of Hurricane Melissa.
Despite major damage to their boutique property, Houston Moncure & his team have been selflessly helping the community out of pocket -supporting their over 100 team members, scores of families, assisting Police, and coordinating with World Central Kitchen to provide hundreds of hot meals day after day. @BluefieldsBayJA @RhodaMCrawford @rayice2000

Per the directive of Prime Minister @AndrewHolnessJM for Ministers of State to play an active role in Post Hurricane Melissa relief coordination, several of us joined MP Tova Hamilton and local teams in Northern Trelawny to bring much-needed practical support and encouragement to families affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Recovery continues, and we remain committed to rebuilding stronger, together. 🙏🏽🇯🇲
Let’s all, at home and abroad, keep supporting our fellow Jamaicans as communities rebuild and recover.
